Everything is stored in GCF Files, the equivalent of PAK's from WON HL1. You can extract files from these GCFs with GCFScape.

I'm slightly confused as to the rest of your question - The new Hammer is not for use with HL1, only Source-based games. (And since this is in the HL1 forum...) For pre-source games, you should be using Hammer 3.4/5b.

It's just that I see pictures of Halflife 1 using the new hammer, at least, I think it is. I think this because the 3D view shows the models, so you can see gordon and headcrabs exc. I thought you could only do that in the latest hammer. Where do I get Hammer 5b? :zonked:

There is indeed a tutorial on this, and it's called "Steam". Why don't you actually look before you post a thread in future?

Hammer 3.4 or 3.5 = Half-Life 1

Hammer World Editor (In Source SDK) = Half-Life 2 and other Source mods

You cannot use Hammer World Editor for Half-Life 1, it's made for Source. You must use Valve Hammer Editor 3.4 or 3.5 for Half-Life 1.

Exactly, so you should have looked. It's pretty obvious.
