when ever I run hammer, or anything else from the SDK, I get a FATAL ERROR: Can't find steam app user info.
any fixes anyone.
for a little more info on the problem, I can't run it through steam, I had to un .gcf it into the same directory. it started giveing me dll not found errors, so I copied thoughs into the folder. now hammer starts up, but gives me the error and closes. for all the other programs it just gives me the error

Try deleting clientregistry.blob. There are a load of possible fixes on the Steam site, y'know.

I got this error and nothing worked so sadly I reinstalled it but this has happened only once!

have a look in ur "tools - options" there are loads of different directory specs for different tasks, maybe one of them is set to the wrong folder. just a thought :
