Well, I just spent three hours examining the damage inflicted by each weapon in CS:S and thought I might as well make some pretty graphs of it, got carried away, and made this. I reckon it's pretty good. What d'you think?

Wow... Great job! Nice charts n graphs too... :)
I wonder if the dmg is different on cs 1.6... :

I saw a website that had a similar idea but it was a flash game where you chose the weapon and clicked the body part of the enemy and it showed how how it took off.

Yours is good though!

Thanks all :).

Took about three hours to get all the stuff. Killed about... 250 bots? I reckon I'll play better for it, though.

Weapons are better balanced in Source, Daub.

What weapon would you suggest to be the most reliable, and accurate?
Playing CS:S today, and was just wondering.

So answer this:

Whats the best weapon combo to use?
and we will see :)

Well, that's so far just a power measurement thing. I will work on an accuracy one in a fortnight or so (after my AS exams) and then compare the two with their respective prices.

The AWP is the most accurate, and the most powerful, Unbreakable. That's why I repeatedly pointed out that different weapons are appropriate in different situations.

Isn't the scout just as accurate though?

CS:Source sucks anyway, who cares?
Nice graphs though.

Very useful, expect you got the shotguns wrong. A headshot with the benelli from 0 meters away does around 300 damage...

Doesn't it matter which body part you hit?

Forget what I said. I didn't see the graph before I posted.

Very nice work, you do have way too much time on your hands though, thats dedication if you actually did it in 3 hours most definitly! ;) i think your gonna find the accuracy very hard, theres loads of different variable factors that would affect the accuracy, its easy to do the power, but an accuracy graph would be pointless and of no use, a standing 1 shot to the head will hit home with every weapon i belive whatever the distance as your tests here demonstrate. if you find a helpfull way of showing accuracy then i will be most impressed

Does 7th actually play cs, or does he just do a bunch of technical stuff?
Posted 18 years ago2005-05-28 23:39:17 UTC Post #111410
No, he actually plays it.

Yeah, I do, WCD.

No, it doesn't.

ZL: CS:S doesn't suck!

Thanks, Ant, Rebbid, J. :)

96a: not everything is accurate enough to reliably get a headshot when it 'should' (i.e. when the cursor's dead in the right place). I'm sure I'll manage to come up with something useful.

It would be a good idea to get some data on CS1.6 and compare it with CS:S.

Feel free, I'm not interested in 1.6 anymore :P.

@Alex - As I said a few posts above, isn't the scout just as accurate as the awp?

And how can you work out accuracy? Because from 60foot, the chances of hitting a headshot are slim to non-existant with some weapons, unless you crouch, but then almost everything has perfect accuracy.
Posted 18 years ago2005-05-29 05:24:08 UTC Post #111435
They certainly don't :|.

Yes, the Scout and AWP are both pretty much perfectly accurate (whilst stationary).
