oook
im trying to compile a map for a test run and i can never get the hammer compiler to work(in game it ALLWAYS says map not found)
so i use HLCC (which isa batch complier thingy whatever... it just uses zoners tools to compile)
and the textured lights never work when i use this compiler... how do i get it to work? where should i put my light.rad file thing(that i customized fer certain textures)
ill list the readout...

What you need to do is create a "lights.rad" file, and put it in the same directory as your compile tools. If you look, you will see there is already one there, but it won't be much use, so make your own . rad file or find the file called "valve.rad", copy it, rename it to "lights.rad", and put it in your compile tools directory.

Gaa I found out the problem...
the light rad was in the hammer compiler tools folder not zoners tools folder

i had a prob with my lights.rad that it wouldnt work. reason: it was a .txt file. always make sure your lights.rad is a .rad file and not a .txt

Its worthy to note that you can have lots of .rad files in the folder,

be aware that mapname.rad overrides them all

there is a hirearchy of .rad files which i'm not sure of

you say it always says map cannot be found...
you have bsp dir on counterstrike/ns/maps, wtf is ns?
btw, there is no cstrike.exe! wat teh fedit!?
