Well, I heard there are some.

What's your budget, exactly?

$1500ish

proccessor
mobo
video card
RAM
(i already have more of that)
HD
a possible case

and seeing as I plan on reusing parts from my current computer(ram, HD, audio card, lan card, cd drives, etc) it shouldn't cost to much more then that, but im still debating on the case to use

Case is a bit expensive.

No Raptor?

You should change your avatar to PNG, by the way, with transparency. Get with the times ;p.

DON'T GET DUAL CORE YET!! Whatever you do! They run incredibly hot and offer no real-world performance boost, unless you run workstation apps that are SMP aware. I would recommend a nice AMD A64 Venice rig instead :) Or, get an old Asus P4C800-E, a Pentium M socket adaptor and a Pentium M 730. I'm going that route soon, Pentium M's beat FX55's in many benchmarks, since they have the shortest pipeline ever to appear on a modern CPU. I think it's ~10 stages or something ridiculously small.
m0p m0pIllogical.

I dont know why the hell Intel doesnt make the Pentium M for desktops. They could actually beat AMD :

id wait for intels new line of mobil processing tech m0p. the Pentium M series is good, but very well might be eclipsed by it.

and I read something about them emiting lots of heat and was planning on getting this to counter that
