what are the minimum dimensions of a hole that you can fit through vertically? i mean like when you climb up a ladder through the floor onto another platform?

Use the player start as reference.

Read the Dimensions tutorial?

Trial and error, otherwise!

You need to make it wider than the player's box, otherwise you risk him not fitting thru :P

ok i have my hole big enough, but i had to use carving, is there any other way of doing it without carving?
i am going to use the railing texture with the '+' sign in it

Sure. Take that hole you made carving, and duplicate it using wedges and cubes. You can build it right over the existing carved version to make it exaclty the same.

The big advantage of not carving is that your construction will be much more efficient--less brushes used.

As your attorney, I would recommend reading the beginner tutorials again, and work your way up! ;)

Doom rules... It totaly started up the FPS genre. With out Doom we probably would never have had Quake, and therefore no Half-Life.

As your attorney, it is my duty to inform you that it is not important that you understand what I'm doing or why you're paying me so much money. What's important is that you continue to do so.

Nahh...I heard that there was a 3D action game before castle wolfeinstein3D called something like "catacomb raider" or something! : But it wasn't secsessfull so nobody knows it today! Thats the mother of 3D games! I think in doom they added hight and in quake I'm sure that they invented the models and started using them insted of sprites! :o
