Ok look i got hl2 and it came with css and hl2Dm i wanna play them sooooo bad!!!!!!! but i lag ...not my ping so im guessing video card or gfx card meaning i need a new one i have no clue of what to do because im not sure on what to pick meaning what video card? how big and such.....i need excact things this lags pissing me off hl2dm looks reall fun...

Get an ATi X800 XTPE if you are on a budget. Seriously, with X850XTPE out, and the R520 coming soon, they are budget cards. They also beat 6600 GT in so many ways.

Geforce 7800 would be a good choice if you can afford it..

Shader Model 3 is hype. It looks the same as Shader Model 2.1 with a slight performance improvement, but 6800/7800's suck at Direct3D anyway.

ive got a radeon igp 345m, very good grfx card, but its in a laptop so i don't know if there is a similar model for desktops. Anyway, if you're having trouble with hl2, could be
--processor speed
--front-side bus speed
--lack of memory
--slow hard drive (that's my problem)

ya ....lol well i like lag but sometimes it plays normal if i just walk a little then i just LAG! LIKE LAG not Ping lag but LAG! ..
