It just has to be done by late november. hopefully with a beta availible mid-november

My beta should be availible soon, next sunday at the soonest though

I just finished up on the archetecture. Now I just have to give all the new stuff, about a 1/3 of the level, lighting. then add a bit of scripting, and tada its ready.

im still burnt from the 2 hours of VM i just did on it. youll see how that turned out when you play it

Ya, i though its a nice effect. Screenshakes are also caused by MP5 grenades, handgrenades, satchels, tripmines, and any other type of explosion.

its a very cool effect
I just sent my updated maps to Daubster for beta Test. I'll send them to the team as well. But make sure u have all the custom .dlls from Muzzleflash. And sounds. Cos i only included the maps and wad this time. The previous beta of chapter 5 (included all game files) was over 40mb.
This is only 2.4mb so.. yep..

Hey, has the website changed? The one I have bookmarked doesn't look like it has changed much at all.

Where can I get some compiled versions of what you all have been working on? I'm looking for a little extra inspiration and I'm curious if I should look for some structural parallels or some general "style" I could click into.

Right now I'm busy carving tunnels into rock (figuratively) as this is an underground military base. Security is a bit tight, and I want to make the trip in a good ride.

HLHS Game DLL's released!

Current list of features:
  • A 100% functional monster_otis (from OppFor)
  • Dynamic Lighting (firing weapons light up the world)
  • Customizable HUD color (Pick a custom HUD color)
  • MP5 max ammo in magazine changed to 30 (default: 50)
  • MP5 bullet decals on every single shot
  • Smokepuff when a bullet hits a wall (same as in CS)
  • 1 grenade, 1 satchel charge, 1 tripmine: WYSIWYG!
  • The world shakes on explosions.

Can I have that Dll too? How do I edit Dlls, notepad? : If you would give me it I would need to remove some of these options.(almost for sure) Also it is good to know. :)

Anyway why wasn't dynamic lightning done in Hl1 it was done in quake2. :zonked: Also that puff on the wall.

No, the dll's are build with the source files, written in the programming language C++. To be able to make your own dll, you'll need the HL SDK. The SDK contains all the source code.
Anyway why wasn't dynamic lightning done in Hl1 it was done in quake2.
Half-Life uses an extremely modified version of the Quake 1 engine.

I remember that I can download SDK files from the 67th valtitude. And muzzle there is a wallpuff sprite but I'm not sure if it's animated but still maybe you can use it(if you didn't already)... ;)

So all I need is the SDK file. Ok :glad:

how hard would it be to do some copying and changeing to add a new weapon.

I had the Idea last sunday after taking the Mini-14 to the range that it would be good in Hostage situation, 20 round clip, 5.56mm, accurate, semi-auto.

if pepper or Muzzle wanted to make it I could give them as many pictures as needed.

but thats just a sugustion
