Sorry if it made no sense.

How do I make an npc_maker spawn combine that after spawning all follow a path somewhere instead of just standing around?

I'm trying to get a whole lot of combine to keep attacking you in a house and know where the front door is.

Off the top of my head I believe you type in properties the name of the monster and how many...Another way which could work is place a few npc_combine_s around and go to flags in properties and tick asleep or something similar. Then make a trigger to wake them or so it seems.

I accomplished that once, but I recently wiped my harddrive -_-

Anyways, I think to do it you can set (in the npc_maker's properties) a first path_corner, then you make the path corners all the way into the house.

You can use assault points to do this. Set up the assault, have the NPC maker BeginAssault each time it spawns and then have that target the template NPC or NPCs a point template will spawn.
