Hi folks,
I'm 30 yrs old now (nothing wrong with playing games at this age is there ? lol) and last year got into playing half life 2 and from that i got into other games. I must say that HL2 has floated my boat a lot more than any other game i have played yet. with the realism and ingenuity involved.
So, being from a technical background and a logical mind and creativity, I found myself wanting to get into modding. I am quite new to this at the moment and have just done the 'your first map' part of the wiki SDK docs.
At the moment I am just getting to grips with Hammer, but I will be following that with the rest of the tools in the SDK, and also i want to learn about the programming side of things. I am capable of programming with my electronics side, but i need to learn the language for C++ etc.
I havent got any idea for a game/mod at the moment but think maybe i should just tinker around with the SDK/Programming etc. and read through some tutorials before i try doing anything serious. So any tips or advice would be great!
I also have a talent in the musical area and can be quite fussy about things, so if i do create a mod, I want to make sure it is at least entertaining and playable. I like my horror stuff so i might do something very scary!!
Sorry for wafflin but just thought i'd say hi!!
