Yes, another knife map. But......it's a remake of my very first map, with CZ textures, and a credits room with a few nades. Oh ya, it's got a good soundtrack to it, just find the button. Anyway, be kind, or don't:D This is my first ever release of a map. Any suggestions on anything I need to work on would be appreciated. Set the gravity to what you will. It's already set, but you may find it too high/low. Oh ya, put the sund in your ambience folder. Thanks again for all of the help and tutorials. You guys rock!

I think it looks OK, considering it's a simple map. In the small arena type of maps, there isn't that much room for improvement or imagination. Maybe the snow is too flat, and the surrounding walls could have more decoration. Some buildings beyond the map (not counting the ones in the skybox) could also help the map feel more real.
Since you seem to handle the basics of mapping well, my suggestion would be to make a complicated layout on your own and see what happens.

Nicely brushed, textured and lit. An especially nice ka map imo.

random suggestions:

-make the "basment" darker
-brush some poles for each corner of the fence
-add some small props/detail itmes to breakup the main walls a little
-the red button didn't do anything for me.

the red button didnt work? did you put the .wav it your "ambient" folder? if not, thats where it goes. It works on our server and other servers that have it.

lol you're right, I just put it in the "sound" folder!

If you provide the correct directory structure when you upload, Nuubes like me won't be able to screw it up ;)

Sorry..I didn't know there was a correct file structure for sounds. I guess you just make a folder with the map name and put the sounds in it? Still kinda new to mapping, as you can see. And noone rated it :(

It's the same as your own. If you have custom sounds, 99% of the time, just include these folders in your distribution if you have custom sounds:

sound/ambience/

Some people include most of the path if they have custom wads, to make it a little faste or the downloader:

valve/half-life/sound/ambience/ <sound files here>
valve/ <wad files here>
...

So then you just copy the valve folder "over" you own, and presto! ready to frag :)
