Hey all. Ok, this is my first map, and it's still very WIP. The basic theme is that of the Lambda complex with slight variations. So far, it just contains one room and a corridor leading out of it, but the corridor isn't quite complete. In this one room you'll find a HEV suit, a crowbar and a suit battery. To access the HEV and open the doors use the control panel near the suit. Lighting is dim because I want it to have a bit of a scary additude:) I would appreciate any kind of comments/critics very much as I wish to improve this map, i.e. on the lighting, entity work, brush/texture placement etc. Also this website is a great source of information and keep up the good work. :) Thanks

Oooh, Lambda Complex... Don't see that too often. I'll give it a try.

Nice little map you have here. The detail is good enough (although not amazing or anything), and you did pretty well on the lighting. You could put some lights on that control panel, and near the crowbar, because I couldn't find those immediately.

The HEV suit cage was a little odd, and it took a while to open. I actually jumped over the cage to get it before I even found the button. You might want to put the second button next to the door, so that it's a little more obvious what it does.

Also, why's there a skylight? The Lambda Complex is deep underground!

Hm thanks for the support folks I'll take note of what you said, i'll work on it...As for the skylight, well, wanted to give it a bit of a different feel. Just because the sky is visible doesn't mean it cant be between some canyons or something. Yes I know, the speed of the 'doors' of the cage was set too low, I noticed that myself and fixed that now, why's it odd anyway? I found it a nice invention. The lighting is supposed to be a bit darker as I said, but I agree the panel is not too well lit up. OK, made some changes now. I've now put a power generator in the middle of the room (some improvised architecture though, and it's rotating and all, just wanted to put some tesla-style rails and eletricity arcs but am having problems with env_beam and env_laser atm...I'll see if I can sort it out.

The HEV suit holder is odd because it doesn't look like any kind of holder for them I've seen before. It's a rusty looking cage with none of the hookups you normally see with the HEV suit, so it's just a little too different (not to mention it doesn't really fit the high-tech theme of the area).

The skylight still doesn't make sense, because the Lambda reactor complex is, well, a reactor complex. Last I heard, those things are always very well sealed off, and they certainly don't have any windows. It's even more critical in Half-Life that it's well protected, because this is the same area they were doing all their top-secret teleportation experiments. If you want though, keep it there, it's just a bit out of place.

I like you little HEV cordon. Even if it's a little bulky and weird, it's still original and thoughtfully constructed. Having the door controls on there too was also a little weird, but no great deal.

I like dark maps, because it's easier to appreciate the contrast between light and dark, but I think this map is a bit too dark. The dark is ok, just throw some nice bright portions to contrast it.

Not really much to say about the rest because it's so tiny, but very nice work just the same :)
