I made this map because I really wanted to do something unique. I don't know if I succeded, but I know this : almost everything that's walkable "outside" is a displacement ( uneven terrain). Excellent for suspension contraptions. It also features a few "flat" zones for those who prefer this.

Ok let's not talk too much because you'll understand nothing. It's better if I make a "feature" list :P :

*Uneven Terrain(Displacements)
*Lots of water(it's a beach...)
*Marine platforms
*Airboat Water Hangar
*A wood "house" or something like that
*Basement
*A race track(the green area of the beach, where there are lots of trees)
*A combine "fort" mountain( just a combine guardhouse on a mountain)
*Tall skybox

I know the map is not "extremely detailed" ( hey, it's garry's mod anyway, maps should be less detailed here :P), but it gives you that "realistic" feel. I guess...
About the basement : I just felt there's something left to do. So yeah, an underground base sounded like a good ideea. It's a calm place, perfect for building wiremod contraptions ;).

[TWHL Copy-Pasta Edit]
The description is copy-paste because I don't feel like making 10 descriptions for the same map right now.
This map can be tested in hl2 also.

The terrain looks a bit bumpy and uneven at places. It could use some more texture blending as well as a whole (looks repetetive). In general, its way too big, and the insides look a bit dark. The texture scales could be upped a little if you're going to keep the areas that unnecessarily huge.

Really just work on the terrain more.. Smoothing it over will help a lot. Those trees could be positioned a bit better too, and with more types of trees.

The water towers also look a hint out of place, being right next to the ocean and all. They shouldn't be sitting directly on the ground either. They need some kind of concrete base.

And I guess you missed the best bad part : there's no 3D skybox. Oupsiee.. :D

Striker, i watched that video. I think the grassy mountain bit at the begining of that video needs to have some retexturing... i think grass texture is pretty innapropriate for some cliffs, rather use a cliffy texture for the bumpier and higher bits of that grassy mountain bit. that would work better. also add some trees there at the top of the cliff where u cant get. would just make it make much more sense.
