You awaken on a floating island with no clue as to what is happening...
It's not until you reach the mainland that you find out what's really going on.
But is it real?

Skals's awesome review of pure truth:
I liked how the door was to be broken by a brick, I didn't know you could do that, and the bit where the control pannel showed up and I clicked it, made me go WTF? that bit was pretty awesome! ok... that underground bit creeped the shit out of me, I got scared cause I hurt myself on the fire torch, so when you threw that screamer in my face I jumped like crazy while shouting FUCK ME MAN!!! I'm too scared to go any further... -.-
++THANK GOD you fixed that crash glitch in the map that you use the car.
+excellent brushwork
+antlion minigame
+pretty good challenges (i had to go god for that fucking gunship, until i found rpg ammo in the box :>)
+stalker scare scene
+/-funny sequences, but sounded a bit weird.
-where'd my prize go in the antlion minigame?
-one part of the minigame it's almost impossible to get past. The pipe requires jumping but you have to speed jump to get past.
-more windows need to be breakable. (just from my destructive mind though)
All around great entry! Five stars.
screenshot lost
I can't keep the door open and go through it at the same time. I have no way of reaching the crates to the right.
potatis, there's a pressure switch in that room there. grab a box. from the previous room.
if you can't pick it up try crouching.
um the boat is a model. I'm using the default collision box so there's really no functionality if the boat other than decor. and the torch is supossed to die.
probably shouldn't however.
i sent you a pm. feel free to share with the others what i sent you.
restart that map and then walk to the northeast corner of the room. zombie should light on fire and break the planks...... did you jump up and over it somehow??
I cannot move him around properly without making him face directly in the ground or directly up, and this means I cannot shoot the gun or even target it correctly due to it. Another problem was that I was taking damage when shooting from my own gun! That's pretty gay huh? Killed myself with my own gun...
and when a point_viewcontrol is active, the player is invincible. I had to find a way around that. maybe I'll release a thread explaining how I did it all.
or maybe after the compo idk
Ok I made it to the bit in the minigame where it says pick shotgun or smg, I changed some of my options because I felt like doing so, and the console gave me some error like the custom config was brokedeed or something, and The freez-in-place thing for the antlion broke, and I can't get it back again. -.-
should be golden then.
+ Beautifully made
+ Ledgend of Zelda style minigame
+ The part with the torch is great, including the scare
+ Strangely cinematic in parts, like with the car jump and the raising bridge.
+ "About that beer I owed ya!"
+/- The other people kept looking in weird directions. Dunno whether that was either unfixable or intentional.
- DEFINITELY needs more direction. About 3/4 of the time I spent playing this I was just trying to figure out what I was supposed to do.
As for the people looking in weird directions, i didnt use scripted sequences to script the NPC's... i used sounds with the source entity coming from the npc... so the AI stays the same, but the mouth moves... i'm still new to Source Scripting.
And as for the direction, that came down to time.
The antlion game took me SO FREAKING LONG to get working somewhat properly that i lost a lot of time.
Plus that whole "full time job" nonsense.
-just did not have enough time to do everything i wanted to.
Lool! the thing ends just like my map!
Ok let me review this.
I really liked it, The alien minigame was annoying all the time since it kept crashing for me, but overall I think that's the best bit of your map, I really enjoyed it! The maps didn't really make sense, so that's a plus! Um, what else can I say? Awesome!
I really wish it didnt crash so often for you!
That's what i get for firing console commands that mess with everything
And as for that door with the shotgun or smg... what happens is the door gets stuck on the bits of flesh that get launched off you when you get hurt.
Everytime you're damaged, bits of watermelon fly off you... straight up..
If one of them lands on top of that door, it cant open all the way...
-again one of the bugs i just didnt have time to iron out.
Sorry dude, didnt foresee that possibility
Those rocket exhausts, are those a custom particle effect?
And put a laser inside it lol.
I plan on releasing the RMF's after the compo is done.
full review later!
btw i loved the "transforming house" and the torch (did you create that or is it part of the game?)
The brick part was a little too hard to find out for me. Luckily my brother was watching and told me to try using it so I did. I thought the floating ship was really neat but was kinda dissapointed that it was a model because I thought maybe I could get into it. I can't be one to judge this entry because I don't map for source much at all but it looked pretty detailed to me.
I jumped on the screamer. It was really freaky lol. On the ramp part it took me a few tries and one time I landed directly on top of the landing ramp and got the car stuck. I thought the second map's intro was kind of funny. I couldn't tell if they were dragging me or what. And the bark/ stomp sound was somewhat too looped but I guess it would have been hard to do it differently while syncing it with the monter's movements.
I think you did a great job on the outside of this map with source's techniques to make the surroundings and the huge monsters. Once I got inside the shed it really turned from a dream to something else. The guns taunted me as I couldn't pick them up. I wanted to go upstairs but the girl blocked me. And so my only option was to play the game. I had already played it but ended up getting stuck and than wanted to explore the rest of the second map but realized that you had to finish the antlion game.
I thought it was pretty cool but I just feel like you got off topic from a dream with it. "Though I had a dream just last night that I was playing a game so I guess it could be dreamy"
As for the final map you did an awesome job remaking the lab entry in source. But when Barney said about that beer I owed you and walked off I was like wtf. I mean I guess I see the humor there but I thought it would have been cool if he just opened the door as though you were going to work. Pretty interesting "twist" to it though lol. You and Skals had the same place to wake up from the dream pretty much... Honestly I almost did the same thing too!
Anyways good job and im glad you finished. Good luck!
But before I do that, I need to fix something. I've finished the maps, but your WAV music files didn't play, because they weren't found, according to messages in the console. First, they were ...\Steam\steamapps\myusername\half-life episode two\ep2\sounds\tetdream\ as stated in your read me file. Then, I tried moving your \sounds\tetdream\ folder into ...half-life episode two\episodic and ...half-life episode two\hl2, but neither of those locations worked either.
I'm using the very latest update of all of the HL2 series. Any idea why your music files aren't being found when I run your maps?
Thanks in advance!
..\Steam\steamapps\myusername\half-life episode two\ep2\sound\tetdream\
i.e. sound not sounds.
