A bomb defuse map which takes place in some desert slums. A simple and fun map, great for 5 on 5 matches. Includes intense close-quarter combat and map overviews (because I hate it when people don't include them :P)
I'm going to tell you right now that the brush-work is not A+. I'm still new to GldSource, and this is really my first map I took seriously.

This map from the screenshots reminds me of the Favelas from Modern Warfare 2, I'll have to test it out later.
THERE'S ALREADY A MAP NAMED DE_ABANDONED
There are a few things I would like to talk about though:
+/- The textures suit a desert-slum environment, but it sort of gets boring after a while. (Make the buildings more interesting?)
+ Like how you can go on the rooftops and battle. I have been killed twice by people jumping off the roofs on me.
+ The layout is great, and your right about it being intense, especially in the narrow alleys. But...
- Some of the narrow areas that you could use to flank people are cut off by either an air conditioner (or what ever) or another building.
- The Auto-Shot is kind of overpowered on this map due to its tightness. Try to make more areas open as to not have a shotgun heavy map
A nice map, I have to say. 3.5 or a 4. I'd recommended it to people who like fast and tight maps.
Just a couple things i noticed right away after quickly running through:
-There are some spaces--at least one place by a group of those plastic crates--where it looks like you can squeeze through, but you can't. If this intentional, disregard.
-Vary the height of the walls and buildings around the outer bounds of the map to make it look not like a box and more natural. For that matter, i would alter the perimeter of the map to make it NOT a square.
-obviously all the stock cs/hl are shite, i would port one from source or make a new one
-ambience? Even if you can't think of good sounds to add, almost ANYTHING is better than pure silence.
-texturing on the whole is not bad at all, but i would try to avoid using the more recognizable/bad original HL textures, like that wood plank. (i wish i would follow this advice on my own maps!)

All told, a very solid map that is easily improvable to make it a first-rate map. 3.5 rounds up to a 4. please pm me if you add anything and i'll re-rate.
T gets almost faster to left bombsite than CT, and nade-spamming from the T spawn makes it easy for them to plant the bomb safely.
Fun map though if you use AMXXMod with plugins that restrict you from buying more than 1 nade of each type.
