**UPDATE**You will need the following patch that adds missing files to the pack.
https://www.mediafire.com/?29pxya1e1ui805c*Included are 12 maps that I made at various times before 2004. They should have everything they need to run, but I apologise in advance if I've accidentaly left something out. The list includes:
Map 1: 2snipe2nice
One of my very first maps, it's layout is a little shocking but it's got some decent areas. At that time I did not know how vis worked, so there are a few visibility errors as well as some clipping errors. This map is also designed for Opposing Force and includes OP4 weapons, but will run in Half-Life.
Map 2: aim_jeune
A much more refined map, if a bit linear, though the interiors are a bit bland. As usual, I liked my secret spots but I like this one for its lighting and outdoor design.
Map 3: amazin_duel
This wasn't actually made by me, but by my dad. I liked this one for its creative lighting technique though the map itself is very blocky.
Map 4: apartment
A multiplayer transformation of a single player map that I used to work on. A large apartment building with oversized brushes and an air-strike radio.
Map 5: castlekeep
One of the more extreme maps that me and my dad worked one, this map has a wide variety of traps and secret spots all set on a large mountain island.
Map 6: gas_station
A simple enough gas station with a suburban courtyard. Very simple deathmatch, this map is also one of the very first completed maps I produced.
Map 7: graveisland
Probably one of the more recent of the pack, this map was based off the first world of the old platformer, Gex. Filled with traps and secret doors that you can access by shooting the cameras.
Map 8: mini_hampster
I think I was bored when I made this one, or I came up with an idea for a hampster to run around a cage. A cute little one-on-one killbox.
Map 9: Oldhouse
Also very old, this map is very blocky but has some interesting aspects. Again, it's quite large with several different areas. Just generally weird overall.
Map 10: skullcave
Another single player to multiplayer transformation of a mod that I actually completed and got lost in hard-drive failures. It's missing many sounds and models, so not much of a multiplayer map.
Map 11: snarkscraper
Another map made by my dad. This time a large skyscraper-box filled with rooms, catwalks and various other intricacies.
Map 12: xenobox
An odd creation by my dad, a maze-like map built for stalkers. Dark with lots of hiding spots.
Great stuff sir. i stil feel if you linked them all together somehow in an sp mod(ala Rimrook's cubicles), it would be way better to quickly preview the lot(you could always provide a mirror for people who wanted to achtually dm with them). just food for thought!
The gas station area reminds me of a l4d map somehow, and the courtyard area reminds me of the matrix 100%, when neo goes to see the oracle, and then in the same scene fights all the agent smiths.
Awesome stuff hotdog. who guy doing all the crazy 1-unit hollow stuff, you or you dad? =P
also ps hotdog, i get a message there is a torch sprite missing from graveisland.
I've also uploaded a patch that should add the missing files.
Playing this mappack reminds me of something i think most mappers lose after they lose nub, and that is to have fun!
The fact you don't know a lot about something and you play around with it to see what it's capable of, and through dicking around you can produce some really neat shit.
This may kind-of explain why many of us tend to "stagnate" in our general mapping, after we feel we've "mastered" most of the features in hammer.

"The maps in this pack are dated experiments."
Bottom Line:
This little map pack has some entertainment value and is a nice insight to HLife_Hotdog's progress over the years.
