An ambitious map using my "cartoon-ish" aesthetic that involves both the "tag-out" hostage setup I did for tag_airsoftfort but also has some obstacle courses for the teams to navigate before they go to battle. The doors switch each round so that each team alternates which of the two obstacle courses they run.
The map proved unpopular on my clan's server because most of them don't want to "play Half-Life" before they play Counter-Strike every round. Perhaps there will be some who will enjoy this map more. I wanted to do a bit more testing and add a bit more polish but I couldn't get it adequately tested and I wanted to move on to the next map (I actually started working on this before the airsoftfort maps). So I fixed one big exploit (people being able to get weapons past the security checkpoint) and compiled it for the final time. It's now available for anyone who might appreciate a goofy/fun kind of map.
+ The texturing is nice. Textures are low-res and look cartoonish but that's why I like them.
+ Scary amounts of entities are involved here I guess. You worked really hard to set this all up. Nice job!
+ Tag gamemode still proves it has a future.
+ Lots, lots of traps. It was pretty fun getting trapped in a room with a Steyr Scout, realizing it was just a model and then getting squashed by a wall (lol). After some time I found an elevator. Well... You know what happened next xd.
- Confusing gameplay. The map is very original and has a lot of cool features - knife arena, lots of secrets, traps, doors opening/closing each new round, etc. But it's difficult to learn the map because of this. Sorry, your map is really a bit confusing but I still like it!
For the texturing, entity setups, tag_ gamemode, cool traps and confusing gameplay tag_death_machina gets... 4 Stars!
