Utility+Fitness in one home appliance. Nice!

High utility! however i don't think your going to build big muscles using this ;)

Also for people who don't own washers/dryers, this could save you ALOT of money in Laundry fees... i spend 10 quid every 2 weeks to wash my clothes(not including detergent and fabric softener).

Big Plus, it's much more environmentally friendly than gas/electric machines, not that many people cbf to worry about stuff like that, but it's pretty cool just the same! =)

If I were to build one of those I would modify the design to be powered by an old bicycle or something. Sitting on it and only using an up-down motion would be tedious as hell. Plus, if you use a rotating pedal design you could easily set it up to be more resistant to motion, and it would excercise more muscles. Anyway CT, you should build one anyway. Don't be disheartened just because you're not the first, if you can't build the first one then build the best one!

Ya TJB, my design is like yours in that the user hand-cranks pedals sticking out of the tub, though i think the giradora design is better becasue in that it takes the stooping out of stoop labour, i.e., you don't have to lean over to use the device, so it saves on your back. (I guess you could just set it on something waist-high to fix that)

Are you talking about mounting the wash/spin device to a stationary bike?(Y/N) If Y, you could really do some express laundry and get a workout at the same time! =P

I'm still gonna make one probably, and i'll use it for small loads of laundry. thanks for the encouragment :)

Yep. You can sit on it and wash your clothes while watching TV, all while getting some good excercise.

I want one, screw washing machines and dishwashers as well. Waste of money.
