I think it's time to go outside, buddy
I hope you're joking. I go outside at least once a day. :P

@SourceSkyBoxer
You know what a super feature would be?
Compiling on HLRAD with a graphics card. Now that's a dream.

On a somewhat related note, this journal title led to me sitting here by myself saying "mnapping" over and over. It sounds like the human equivalent of any given video of animals making sound while eating.

And I think I kind of understand Richmans elevator now and why he used trigger_relays instead of env_global, my elevator is depending on timing, and so the doors bug out once the player moves while pressing the button(or atleast I think that's why). His however only turns the elevator itself on once all the doors are fully closed, and for that he's using a lot of trigger_relays and a multisource. I don't quite understand yet why all this, but propably so you can't interrupt the elevator by pressing the outer button.

But it sure did help me with my elevator bugging out, going to see if I can replicate his method of activating the elevator.

Very good looking map!

Good news, the elevator works as it should.

Ok so I got the elevator moving, but once it reaches the bottom path_corner and I want to ride it back up, it starts bugging out, because only the doors are moving upwards? Really strange.

So I followed the tutorial and apparently it's not working. Great, now how am I supposed to debug this? I can't find any mistake in naming the entities and using "developer 1" and "cl_showevents 1" does nothing, I can press the button but nothing happens.

Edit: It was "impulse 104" and apparently I forgot to set the next target for the upper path_corners... and a typo for the door multi_manager.

This was somehow easier to fix than I suspected, thankfully.

No scientists were hurt in the recording of the video, because Richman never finished that part, and it's also bugged in the way that the scientist gets stuck on the wall everytime.

Hi! This is very interesting. I'm curious about how it ended. I have been reading some stuff about epos systems lately since my company has opened offline stores, besides the ecommerce. We have had problems bridging all the data together from the online sales to the one acquired physically. Although we found very interesting epos products, the software could be enhanced. We haven't found the way yet. Have you done any update since the last post?

I am diving into all this info, maybe this is useful for whoever is interested in topic http://www.opensourceposguide.com/.

Whoa, thanks torekk :)

Yeah pouet was something what I was looking for also reminds me of a similar site I once used but since went away also purple :D

Yeah the move from desktop to mobile is the biggest factor sites like these don't exist anymore, mobile just doesn't have the screen space to display all the bloat.

Kind of late, but thought it might be helpful anyways. Check out these sites that have old school designs:

http://www.chiptune.com/ - This one is inspired by the Amiga OS, done with JavaScript
http://www.pouet.net/ - This is propably what you're looking for, packs a lot of info in just 3 vertical columns.
https://files.scene.org/
http://www.hitmen-console.org/
http://www.bitfellas.org/ - This one isn't 90s, but more like early 00s, reminds of a lot of clan websites, same as pouet with the 3 columns
http://tasvideos.org/
http://www.iquilezles.org/

Oh and then there's this as well: http://motherfuckingwebsite.com/

That one perfectly explains my view on web design.

"Good design is as little design as possible."

The quote comes from Dieter Rams and he sure is right.

But I can also understand why things got more "simplified", for one sites like bitefellas or pouet feel "bloaty" to new users, atleast they did to me when I first visited them. And then we have bigger screen resolutions than back in the days, which relates to the bloat argument: if the screen resolution becomes bigger, you can fit more stuff, but it all gets bloaty even faster.

And then there's the fact that personal computers in the traditional form, tower + monitor, are slowly replaced by smartphones and tablets by most people. I bet pouet or bitfellas are a bitch to navigate with a touch screen... But in my opinion, websites shouldn't "degrade" just so they match the hardware, which has technical problems ever since to begin with.

Exciting stuff!

Most of the major milestones of my life is behind me already. I've completed my medical training, got married, bought a house, became a father, and I am just enjoying the fruit of my labor and waiting for retirement in ten years.

@DiscoStu, you should see it where I live in the UK. My sister moved to her own place a couple of estates away and the layout inside is identical to our mum's house. My grandparent's place which was a couple of estates in the other direction was also identical.

Then, when I moved back to Market Drayton three years ago, we got a house close to my mum's place, and the layout of my house is identical to my childhood friend's house, who lived one street over. So it seems this entire area where I live, the houses all have one of two layouts...

Grats Tetsuoman!

Every house in the USA looks the same though, do Architects there even bother designing anything? :P

Ohhh don't you worry I'm in a crapload of debt haha. I was saving for years to afford the down payment and closing costs. I had some help from family too.

The house is 2 years old and is built to the latest building codes - can withstand wind gusts of 150mph (242kmh). You know, gotta protect against those hurricanes.

I love my Jetta; i plan to put a turbo in it soon. What has you confused about them?

I've been modeling the house in blender so i can see how furniture will fit before i buy any. Expect a map to come out soon. Ill do GS and S versions haha

Congrats man! Even without knowing where you are from I could tell from the picture, only the Jetta would confuse me a little bit. Americans like to build houses that look so fragile in the face of the extreme weather you experience around there.
I think it'll be a good 10 years before I'll afford having my own house - and without being in debt, maybe more.
