Well it seems it's not going too well for you in this period, but since you have the skills, in a really desperate situation you could try one of those freelance job sites...

Steam is a bitch sometimes, this happened to me in the past when I bought Gmod for a friend for 10 euros, and next week it was 75% off or something like that...

Archie ninja'd me!
I was going to say the same thing: not a bad start! I will add that I didn't like the lighting, it seemed a bit too bland. The pathways feel a bit too tight, and the bomb location will never be, in practice, reached by the terrorists. A truck of that size being parked in that place looks odd, don't you think?
You're doing well. I encourage you to step further with a bigger map.

I wish I could produce such quality in such a small amount of time! Although I watched Wall-E quite a bit of time ago, I feel your map is able to bring into memory a couple of scenes. It surely looks rushed though, and you could still make some polishing.
Gameplay - Not sure what to say here, it features really straight forward action, hopefully not traditionally masked with cover positions consisting of crates. I wasn't able to put bots in it, I would have tried playing it a couple of minutes. What I think you can improve here is providing a bit of high-ground. Sure, there are some tanks there but they're not high enough and it's difficult to climb on them.
Ambience - You successfully convinced me that I'm not playing in a box. The ruined cityscape is a bit intimidating and makes me feel really small, but otherwise a wise 3D skybox for this map. I think the white landing pod that gives out smoke is a nice touch. Frankly, it's the only dynamic element in the map that says: "Hey! This is not an entirely dead, static map!". Seeing Wall-e recharging his batteries gives me a warm feeling somehow... About the sound ambience.... I can't say much, it does its job. The textures were smartly chosen, and once again you're proving your creative geometry skills.
Problems/Suggestions - There are a couple of oddities around, but I know this was rushed and it's normal. One of the first problems I spotted were the shadows: they're incredibly sharp and black, those need fixing. I liked the blueish building silhouettes in the distance, but it's a bit harsh to my eyes. You could try a more subtle blue. A thing that really stands out is the gap between the city and the desert terrain, that needs urgently fixed. Some of the buildings look like they've been built by children: clipped windows and skyscrapers made of dirt that look like peanut chocolate. I was intrigued by the hammer axis representation in the middle - is that intentionally left there? It looks rather weird... Since I'm talking about the middle, you should check that pile of dirt there - it's not correctly sewn. Also, why there are no-clips at the ends of the road, but you can "safely" fall off on the sides? One last suggesting is that I'd like to see some dust blows on the desert land.
All in all, it looks superb for 5 days. Congratulations! The ratings are disabled btw, but I'm giving you 5 stars.

November 2007, a time when I had no concerns about my future, no stress. I look to that time with nostalgia, now that I'm about to go to my final exams :(.

Yep :). COM5 is a virtual serial port actually. I used the Arduino and a thermal sensor to measure the temperature of the cooled air. Although in the room the temperature was at about 30C, I doubt it the cooled air was at 23C, it felt more like 10C, but the sensor probably heats itself and there isn't much contact surface with the cooled air either... I used an old CD case. I made a hole through its cap and attached a computer fan. I also carved( yeah, no clipping tool here, sorry) a hole through the transparent plastic which also serves as the ice holder. Warm air is pushed inside and it comes out cooled.
I'm not a son of a beach, but still it's hot here. This wasn't a dildophonic capacitor, nor a masturbator, but nice imagination anyway.

Nice showreel man! I always wondered how is that "color distort" effect made. Do you know a tutorial or something on that? I mean, the whole image and text "spasm".

I'm trying to get into Automatics&Computers engineering, but there's going to be a difficult math test( already went to a simulation and got a 7, but I'll have to be better than that if I want no taxes). If I won't succeed there, I'm heading to Informatics.
Can't believe how many of TWHLers are also graduating :). Congrats to you too! Oh we're also throwing a graduation party tonight. I hope I can come back on my feet home :)).

HDD noise is absolutely normal. And if your hard-drive is quite old, you shouldn't bother. As Stojke suggested, you should do a health scan. There's also HD Tune for that.

Interesting. I'm finishing high school soon too, and exams await me. I'm a bit scared of course, and it's curious that I haven't had nightmares yet. I am crushed, though, by the thoughts and nostalgia that are being brought up to me when I look at younger colleagues and friends. They look like birds in the sky to me, they don't feel the burden of life. My way of calming me down is to think that they too will pass through these years, as others have, and I was too a child once... it's just my turn now. So cheer up!
Urby, it's interesting that I met one of my best friends online too, here on TWHL :).

The truth is that I have dreamed about TWHL, or at least meeting TWHL members in the past. I can't remember the dream though, and I didn't note it down :(. Interesting Inception-like dream though. Keep dreamin'.

Yeah they contain some toxic compounds, according to wikipedia: "neurotoxic cyanogen glycosides and immunosuppressive cyclic nonapeptides". I've read somewhere though that scientists have tested for these effects on humans with a 60g portion and nothing happend, so I suppose only on special occasions or if you consume a rather big portion of flaxseeds you'd get intoxicated.
I use them for the Omega-3 oil and as a natural laxative from time to time.

NH Yodalman, Crollo, Trollo, Collapse... a man with many names. A symbol of member evolution.
Also, what's your talking about?

Anyway, that's a cool kid you've got there :P.
[EDIT] No, wait, I didn't!
Hoooraay!
Sorry for you.
As for your resolutions, I wish you the best of luck.

"but we should end up going to the beach and stuff, so it could be fun."
wait, isn't winter in Australia now?
What happened anyway?
Man, I remember playing this mod, although I have no recollection of actually doing it. Still, it was pretty nice for its time.
