Commented 19 years ago2005-02-12 07:39:33 UTC in vault item: Castle Comment #5971
This map took a long time to compile on my machine for such a simple design...prolly 'cause of the weird vm problems.

That aside, looks really cool. Reminds me of the old french castle inside the walls of Fort Niagara. I've been thinking of doing a map of it myself.

Finish!

Nvmnd.... figured it out. I never used the multi-manager before and was unaware of the 'smartedit' thingy. Tutorials are my good friend.

This was very helpful for me to finish an example map, but I don't understand how the final trigger and multimanager tie to the endsection. Thanks!

Thanks for comments C_man. You should have seen it before I simplified the lodge architecture, shrunk the entire map, scaled up textures, and added vis-blockers. It was way, WAY worse. Thanks againe for the input!

No I noticed! But I removed the map from the vault--sorry! You said that this would be tought to do properly in HL. Thanks for trying!

Great map IMHO. I liked that you could move the pieces, and I thought their architecture was exquisite.

I enjoyed going through the map. My favourite part was detonating the C4--blew myself up a few times before I figured out how to escape the explosion.

Greater consistency in size, time to complete, and quality, would have helped, IMHO.

I also reazlize co-op projects are a nightmare to execute efficiently, especially with this many people. All things considered, Great Job!

The battlecruiser architecture is superb, but the texturing is ridiculous. Brushed tanks looked great!
If you ever want to work on a coop project that has something to do with StarCraft, please let me know...I love SC.

Great map! I like the different ways you can enter buildings, and the Architechture looks very clean. Can't wait to see the finished product.

I put it in minimod format and checked it out--really cool map. If you read the minimod tutorial--on this site--you can set it up in less than 5 minutes.

Drop this valve folder in your half-life folder then run the map called "rx_museum".

Really, and overwrite the valve folder that's already there? Why don't you put your map in minimod format as stated in the compo, and I might look at it.

PTS why no screenie? I'm very upset with you about this, but I think you had a link to this map from one of the threads, with the human assasin blowing up the door? Kool map.

Since the deadline was Wed, 9pm GMT, feel free to judge it. If I'm not mistaken, noone else submited anything, so maybe if we all agree to extend the deadline, this is it.

yeah, the mouse and the monitor were weakpoints for sure. I wanted to rotate them both to make them look more real. Prolly should have left them straight on. The monitor scale was awful tool. I can't believe I submited it that way, but it was the last part I worked on and was tired of the whole project. Thanks for the compliments and pointers!

Looks good. Paticularly I like the open cd tray, the mouse and the screenie--is that the Darva Conger Playboy issue? Table looks cool too.

Got it, just had to switch to software in 1.5. Looks cool! Cool VM. And scarry with the lights off! Perfect for Wolfenstein.

Looks cool in hammer, but I can't run it in half-life. In 1.5 I get some weird opengl error, and in steam it asks for a wad called pts_carryl something-or-other.
