A lot of parts from this map were recycled from another map of mine that I made for a competition.

Never got finished. But, that's where most of this map came from. I agree about the dead ends part, but than again it's based off of an older map and a map called "Stranded" with an airlock system.

YES! I finished it today!

++THANK GOD you fixed that crash glitch in the map that you use the car.
+excellent brushwork
+antlion minigame
+pretty good challenges (i had to go god for that fucking gunship, until i found rpg ammo in the box :>)
+stalker scare scene
+/-funny sequences, but sounded a bit weird.
-where'd my prize go in the antlion minigame?
-one part of the minigame it's almost impossible to get past. The pipe requires jumping but you have to speed jump to get past.
-more windows need to be breakable. (just from my destructive mind though)

All around great entry! Five stars.

azure sheep - good story, shitty mapping
poke646 - best mod, hands down
sweet hl - pretty good, too many anime references, terrible voice acting for hwg.
they hunger - pioneer of half-life modding (although USS darkstar was underrated as hell)
residual point - pretty epic mapping.

I have my eyes on the first two though.

YES. make a "trap" map layout ;)
Commented 14 years ago2010-08-10 15:38:02 UTC in journal: #6701 Comment #41507
I'm probably going to use the second one for a DMC map

The first one probably for a map made with Blazeer's mistral.wad (been meaning to use that one forever)

and the third looks almost like the beerfort-like layout

(EDIT) well i tested it, not bad. although a bit buggy.

I'll post my "water" sand method tomorrow.
Commented 14 years ago2010-07-31 17:18:59 UTC in vault item: Aquatos: Aqua Labs Comment #18314
the aquarium tanks are too high for you to jump on

so it's not clipping. :)

but yeah you're right, i'll fix the errors later on tonight

@zeeba, but then that would be impractical, people just want to play the game not go through that stuff. (icky comment)

That's what I did, but the doors are still openable either way, so it's not able to be fixed
Commented 14 years ago2010-07-31 00:37:44 UTC in vault item: Aquatos: Aqua Labs Comment #18304
Yeah, I am aware of the cloth glitch.

Thanks for the awesome review.

The pressure chamber can't be fixed seeming as how the door is a func_rot_button.

I already tried the security scanner thing but it's not exactly the best. and the sound will not stop even though i toggled not looped.

Sorry about the wall, it's a clip brush and i wanted it there to make it more of a dangerous mission to get the egon and rpg. I made air pockets so people don't have to die.

thanks again for the criticism.

Well you did a good job for your first project!

I was impressed. You managed to use texlights and mortars. a few suggestions..
  • make the mortar controllable to where you launch it.
  • tile the lab walls with other textures instead of one continuous texture.
  • add a little more detail here and there.
Good job!

You get 3.6 stars which means a 4 in the current system. :)
