Yup! VHLT v31 adds a lot of cool features like a better smoothing of brushes and light entities, and even a great support for surf maps like info_hullshape and such. That entity let you make people to not stand on the surfing brush, they slide off of it. No camping on surf maps.
Oh, also, func_detail has "opaque" set to default. Every func_detail solid entity will cast shadows by default.

Yup, I hate the way GoldSource blurs the textures, so I said fuck: 512x512 textures. Problem solved.
Didn't want to use TGAs detailed textures, though. And the light patches didn't affected too much WPolys on such small surfaces, so I decided to leave the textures size as is. :3

If you need further help on improoving your map, you could head to THIS link. It's the first RE1 mansion remake in Half-Life. Take a look at it with BSPViewer, or decompile it with WinBSPc for learning purposes.

I actually have every Source game on my Steam profile (plus more than one in different accounts, 3 to be honest :P). The problem is: my shitty pc my dear Tet. If I could barely support UT2k4 at minimum graphic settings at 640x480, trying to test or review your map with this hardware should be really bad! xD But I really want to test it out. As soon as I have a new pc I'll give you some opinions!

You should use VHLT v31 instead of v30.
I wish I have this graphic card too.
Btw, the 3DMark score is unbelievable. Are you getting problems with GoldSource games or VHE 3.X with this card? I hope not.
