I finally got some comments on my Zombies map, my second map. My first map was here but I took it off to work on it. It was pretty bad.

Posted my third map a couple days ago, Scientist Killing Spree, because I know that there are some people out there that just loving blowing up scientists with grenades or rockets, which you can do in my map. :badass:

I can't decide what to do for my fourth map, maybe a better version of Zombies. :P

Final Comments:
Wilsonscastaway's maps are crap!

This is the journal of Eddie Allanwood.
1st Entry.

I'm currently developing a new single player mod for Half Life called Half Life: Rain Of Fear. I must thank the people who have supported this website since their tutorials have proved very useful in its development.

More will be posted when the mod gets further in development.

A thing I find realy cool is how lots of the new mods that are in the works right now have realy good mappers, modilers, storylines, custome textures, and websites. The HL engin in its first few years had every pearson under the sun making a mod, site, map, whatever. Now that HL is 5 years old you can see lots of dedicated ppl working with it. You see ppl that have spent years now tenkering with the SDK, tenkering with ways to map, tenkering with textures, and ppl tenkering with models.

Now that I have a few years of mapping and messing with hl/other games, I am finding that I realy wont to use my mapping skils, some ideas of going into the industy and also lots about working on my own mod, and some on getting involved with a mod that has a good story, texture artist, coders, modilers, and other ppl that know what they are doing when it comes to doing these things.

I also find my self wishing that I had HL earlyer, and got into mapping a few years before I had gotten into this stuff. I can see my self working on some of these great mods that have been started / nearing compleating / coming soon.

Okay, I've cobbled something together for the forum readme. It ended up rather an expanded version of Where to start? but with more of a focus on getting people to look things up in the resources we've prepared rather than spamming. It's not final. Have a look at the Adobe Acrobat version or the Word version and comment!

I find it intresting how with a game as old as HL there are still great sites with info on how to mod, map, and such. Of course there are sites where they were uptodate 3 years ago when lots and lots of people where getting into modding. But now most of the information is out dated as the tools, engin, techneaks, and ideas are change. Its realy great to get on a site that is still doing things, such as competitions well after the most of the people have learned the knowage.

Even now that I only have a few years of mapping in me, I find it fun to see people see me or some of the experienced mappers as people to look to for help to get started.
(Ya my thoughts wonder a bit) :P

VESA RESEARCH FACILITY COMING SOON

Im figuring out the story as I build the certain Maps i want to include in my MOD.

VESA RF has been working with Black Mesa ever since they started reseach. Vesa personel including the person you play as, Dean Wilson, are the ones who found the sample which Gordon Freeman pushes into the Beam. They are mostly focused on teleportation and Human genetics and performance. Thats why they are intersted in the effect the crab like cretures have on humans.
The story takes place where you are heading down into the underground Labs of VESA to prepare for the test Gordon Freeman is about to administer. Your collegues tell you they are ready to run a systems check for the new hardware they have added to the system that monitors and controls the test chambers output energy. The new hard ware is faulty and distroys the system. Meanwhile Gordon is walking past the computer that blows up. That is why it blew up.

Still working on the story. When finished, this will be presented as a MOD
Alot of work to do yet

Untill Next Time!
