Cyclers maybe? Cycler bleeds, but cycler_weapon doesn't. Also, if you're trying to create a brush version of a model, chances are you'll get an invalid solid.

Plain paper plan usually, with circles for monsters and weapons. I usually change bits of the final map, sometimes large chunks, but I do plan it.

The intros all rule, especially the opfor and bs intros. They were really good. But my fave normal maps:

HL: Questionable ethics, Lambda core, Surface tension
OpFor: The package, Foxtrot uniform, Vicarious reality (Biodome labs)
BS: Captive freight, Power struggle, A leap of faith

To get left-handed models right-handed, you must be in opengl mode. Right-handed models don't work in software mode. At least, not for CS and CZ.

OK. This is an HL mapping compo. Models and textures only enhance it, and probably have no effect on how you do in the compo. For example, it would be pointless having barneys in a first world war map, so you might use a custom barney model to make it more realistic. It's not mapping skill, and only increases file size. Sounds, models and textures can easily be taken from other mods anyway (CREDIT THE PEOPLE THOUGH!). Spirit is an HL mod. If we want to use spirit, we should have spirit compos too (And opfor and cs compos, since it pleases more people that way; I'd like an opfor/spirit compo). But for this, PLEASE stick to HL.

I don't think it should have links to all your compo entries on your profile...because in a year or so, I'd have several entries and no trophies. If people want their map to be seen, they can upload it in the vault.

I had this problem with one of Black Cat's maps...Stargate Command or something. It had loads of too many direct light styles on face errors, must've been 5 minutes and they just kept coming!

Lol, nice idea. A Homer mod. And kol, there will be custom sound, a few models, but not many, and maybe one or two custom sprites. I wasn't fully ready with models etc. when I said that, and they weren't necessarily going to be included. Even now, not all will be included, simply to keep file size down. But you WILL see donuts in some maps, including the very first. I might replace some healthkits with them ;)

No funny code or OAP mode, but for humour value, it will be called Half-Life: Donuts. I think I'll put some donuts in instead of healthkits sometimes...I even have a donut model ;)
It'll be different because there will be new maps, and I didn't think about the player model...I probably won't change it though. It wasn't changed in Blue Shift. Thanks for all the support. I'll upload screenies as the maps are done. I've seen a WIP screenie of XargoL's map and it looks excellent, far better than mine, so expect to see some high quality maps (From him)!

Well, you must be a good mapper. Are you any good, chow? If so, you're in, and I think that's just about all the people I need now! The rules:

Spirit is allowed.

Maps must be sent to me as RMFs, with lights.rad and custom textures (I'd prefer you to use HL textures though).

HEV chargers will be unusable in the final mod, so keep them rare and make them unnecessary to proceed.

If recharging is necessary, place a dead barney, and place one or two batteries by him: I will change them to armour and helmets later on. Don't make them too common though, and don't have armour by every dead barney.

You can map what you like as long as it's in black mesa during the disaster, and not the map straight after the first OR the last map.

Get mapping now!

The marines do not work for the Gman. The blackops do, but not the marines. Blue Shift was an excellent mod, if short, and Dr. Rosenberg also appears in HL: Decay on PS2. I hope they do a PC conversion of that, I'd love to play it. Also, Black Cat beat Nihilanth with a crowbar. It's easy enough, you can only use it when his head opens though.

Nihilanth is the baddie...but yes, he looks like a fat, mutated baby. Gman's not evil, just mysterious...I think he's good really. He's a very weird guy though...and in HL2, he looks scary, and yet at the same time, drunk ;)

You should ALWAYS start mapping for HL SP. Otherwise your maps will suck like hell. It's the only way to make a good map...get experience from SP. It has all the basics, and after SP, CS is incredibly easy to pick up. Doing it the other way round is harder though.

Oh FFS Neo...the HIT members do not flame. First, your request was...weird (WTF is usher/lil jon?), second, you got pissed off with them, which sealed your fate there. MS3D isn't expensive either...also, I am not stuck up (I'm a HIT member too!). You got banned because you assumed that the requests forum guarantees you'll get the model (You have a very small chance of getting one, I'd say about 25%), and then you started flaming them. It's your own fault. But yes, TWHL owns every other site. GO TWHL!

iMacs are one of the worst computers ever. You spend 1000 quid getting one, you spend a few thousand years trying to figure out how to use it properly...and half the decent programs available aren't compatible with iMacs.
