He means that you made an entity with world brushes, and one or more of the textures on that entity brush has the sky texture on it. (the blueish 16x16 texture) You cannot have the skytexe tied to an entity, because this texture is used for creating skies for outdoor maps.

yeah, actually muzz, the smokepuff looks wierd. The sprite plays far too slowly.
I agree, ill fix that later. But is the sprite itself ok with you?
And muzzle there is a wallpuff sprite but I'm not sure if it's animated but

No, the dll's are build with the source files, written in the programming language C++. To be able to make your own dll, you'll need the HL SDK. The SDK contains all the source code.
Anyway why wasn't dynamic lightning done in Hl1 it was done in quake2.
Half-Life uses an extremely modified version of the Quake 1 engine.

HLHS Game DLL's released!

Current list of features:
  • A 100% functional monster_otis (from OppFor)
  • Dynamic Lighting (firing weapons light up the world)
  • Customizable HUD color (Pick a custom HUD color)
  • MP5 max ammo in magazine changed to 30 (default: 50)
  • MP5 bullet decals on every single shot
  • Smokepuff when a bullet hits a wall (same as in CS)
  • 1 grenade, 1 satchel charge, 1 tripmine: WYSIWYG!
  • The world shakes on explosions.

Compile with normal or full vis and you won't see the skybox. This only happends when you compile with fast vis.

making such a thing from solids will make any Hl1 server lag.
It won't lag that much. Its kinda small.
It will also create tons of leaf saw through portals. If you want to make such a thing from solids func_wall it(easier for vis) and clip the inside.(less clipnodes)
Turning it into a func_wall won't cause leaf portals saw into leafs errors. So ya, func_wall stuff like that.

The problem is that that texture doesn't exist. Check the wad file that has this texture in it, and make sure its loaded in Hammer and placed in the right directory of the mod your mapping for.

No Elon, the Zoners tools automatically fixes the Token to large error, because the Q-tools are actualy meant for Quake mapping/compiling. The Quake engine uses a different kind of wad format, so maybe thats causing the Token... error.
But.. how do i pack file in rpm??

Uhm no.

I made a flat piece of it first, then i copied and rotated it to get a cube, then i welded the parts together, and spherefied it. Like i said, quick and dirty, and probaly not the best way to do it. But i think its fine.

Are you looking in Steam HL, or WON HL?
I recommend WON HL. If there is no halflife.wad there, your installation is either corrupt. Try reinstalling.
Are there any other wad files in the valve folder?

I actualy used a quick and dirty method to make that sphere, that explains the dark shadows.

It may not look 100% the same, but its close enough. I think. :)

Look, if you people run out of time, then focus getting the actual Test Chamber finished! Thats the most important part in the map. Just get rid of those extra area's. If your Test Chamber really kicks ass, you still might stand a change of winning. Not likely, though, but try.

I think you deleted the wrong brushes. Check your compile log. The error should tell you which brush(es) are bad (brush number). Then go back to Hammer and goto: Map ---> Go To Brush Number... (Ctrl+Shift+G) And enter the brush number(s). Hammer will automatically center all views on the bad brush, except the camera window.

You can change the gauss beam color by changing the sprite: smoke.spr.

That the laser sprite the gauss uses. I know, its odd. :)
