The only thing thats different when making a HLDM map is that you need to place info_player_deathmatch entities for players to enter the map at different points. Thats all.

Phineas bot is pretty old (and crap) and it most likely doesn't work on HL v1.1.1.0 or v1.1.2.0

1. Make sure you have put the correct map name in the trigger_changelevel entities in both maps.

2. Make sure that your trigger_changelevel entities aren't in the same positions otherwise the system gets confused. What I tend to do is this.

3. Sometimes I get this problem if the trigger_changelevel entity is touching another brush. Make it about 16 units away from all walls and floors.

If I knew what kind of environments you were making, I might make a texture or two when I'm bored.
There is no specific environment really. Give me something and I'll find a way to use it. The hunter has designed a coridoor for me already and it is exactly the kind of thing I'm after in that it is...well...there isn't really a word for it. Its just pleh. Pleh in a good way.

I said the following to Hunter on MSN and then he went away and came back with a fantastic little coridoor.

"My current inspiration for this mod is coming purely from a picture I have in my head. A sausage rotating above a giant eyeball. Now, go map!"

Yeah, Spirit is a helluva lot more versatile for creating factions. You can have 2 different tribes of alien grunt attacking each other and have Human soldiers patrol areas with houndeyes as guard dogs. :P

Standing for "HALF LIFE: OFF ITS FUCKING HEAD!" This is going to be my ultra violent, off the wall insane, stress relief on the side project.

It will be short, disturbing and will take you on a journey into the twisted part of a mapper's brain. The part that takes over when you can't get your arches to line up properly or when you just can't get the lighting right in that room!

I do not have a release date because I will work on this on stressful days when I have no idea what to do for my serious projects.

Warning: This will be a Horror mod. It may not be suitable for anyone who is effected by disturbing scenes.

There is money.
No there isn't. There are fuel supplies, ammo suplies and manpower. I don't know a great deal about leading an army in Real Life but I imagine that you need that kind of stuff to stage an assault.

This is an attempt to recreate the combat strategies used in WW2. Not some plotless game following plotless combat between red and blue robots.

Real wars need fuel, ammo, manpower and whats that real important one...erm...oh yeah, MONEY!!!

You do need to build forward bases. Occupying a few houses won't do it. You need to have proper defences, medical stations, etc.

In short its the best and most authentic RTS to date. Z and C&C are nothing more than fantasy strategy games. (IMO, they're the ones that suck)
