Big_cty for Half Life, with a leak and dark glass for the sky(didn't know how o make sky so I substituted it with the dark part being the night sky and the bright streaks being clouds...)! (original map was a lot different, was reall quite stupid really...)

I have the best skins ever, but I just typed it all out and tried to visit a website that I got them from but whe I went back here the whole post was deleted. Im really angry because I just spent about 20 minutes typing up a detaled explanaion of each model.

Yeah, try opengl. Does the map "fade away" into black the further you go or does it just go all at one time? Because if it practically flashes on and off with black its a render error usualy ossociated with direct 3d and software.

Forgot the website.

Solution to scipted_sentences (hopefully): eplace the scripted sentence with an ambient generic, the people don't move when they talk so it should work.

The OFFICIAL story of the aftermath of Half Life, and the game itself is almost as good as Half Life.

Question: Is there any way I can make scripted_sentences playu from .wavs in the sounds folder instead of playing from the sentences.txt? (because the files aren't the same so the scripted_sentences in Rdemption don't work)

Check this, I am personally etracting and converting all the maps and models for Redemption to be played with Sven Coop. In other words, I'm "releasing" Redemption for Sven Coop! Its going to be awesome and its not very hard to do either (already about a third done after working about 45 minutes)

If your not using th fdg then you need to. If you don't have the fdg (which you should anyway) use the spirit fdg as Reafer said. Then you scroll down the monster's proerties untill you reach Reaction to Player: Set it to friendly unless provoked.

If you want to ally marines and alien set either the aliens' behavior (also in spirit fdg) to marines or marines' to aliens. Or if you want them to follow you with your use key set thm to behave like Barney.

Click on the tool in the sidebar labeled Texture Application. Then go into 3d mode and click the face of the texture that you want to fix, then click "fit" in the box that will pop up and you texture will fit in its spot.

Sounds like a cool idea, try to make the houses proportioned fairly good (don't make them mansion-sized with 3 rooms, a-la cs_estate). Drivable cars maybe? If you want to spac the 2 houses far away drivavble cars would be cool.

If you have big open areas that players cannot reach but could possible cause vios/r_speed problems, fill the large areas with blocks. This is a very good way to avoid compile problems/making comple longer than needed be.

So what you are all telling me is that the map wasn't good because of someting YOU did wrong. So thats how it is. The file called "insallaion.txt" is there for a reason.

Don't expect Nightmare v2 to be a mod guys (I'll leave the modding to Jahzel). Remember I'm still going on Life Gear and I'm waaaaay behind as I have been mapping nightmare and winter_city. Expect tons of new textures in v2 though (will still keep the "neon" effect going though).

Oh yeah! I thought you meant a tank as in like a water tank or something haha. There should be a button somewhere near the gate blocking you from driving the tank any further after you raise it up that lowers the gate. if you have already done this and the tank still won't move, heck, it worked for me. If all else fails use noclip and fly into the portal.

Wait, about the sounds. Who played that map on single player Steam? Id recommend it be played on WON single player because thats what I tested it on. That could be your problem.

All right, I won't brag but I must admit: I knew my horror map would do good. On to business-

Seems like a lot of people were having problems with the maps sounds. Most likley a sound overload as there are about 25 sounds going on at once (not always hearable but they are turned on). This obviously posed a problem as the sounds are one of the more scarier aspects of the map (listen to them from their file if you didn't get to hear them ingame). The overload of zombies also obviously caused some dullness and the ending wasn't what I planned it to be either so here's what I'm going to do:

I've still got some good ideas to make this map even scarier that before which means more room with who knows what waiting for you in them, without you expecting a zombie around every corner. I'll spice up the lighting a bit and tone down the sounds, or at least make them off until you actually reach them, then turn off the ones you pass (should solve the sound problems). I'll also completely remove the old ending and add a new one that will probably make you &^$@ your pants multiple times (hope you didn't eat anything spicy, if you know what I mean :P).

pople would be expecting that part anyway, once you see it its obvious whats out there, you just don't know where muahaha! Anyway, the map is out, go get it and if you can't kill a zombiewithout being hurt don't play this map as there are tons of them. I didn't use zombies to increase the horror effect as I know they are not scary at all but they set the mood for the map like you have never seen before.

My internet isn't getting any problems with surfing the web but when I connect to a Steam server that says its ping is 40, when i join my ping is around 300! Is anyone else experiencing this because it won't stop no mater what do.

Full_city was originally for half Life, which explains the vast open areas. better for deathmatch really. anyway an update, and a spine shilling one at that:

I just added the one area of the map that WILL, and I repeat WILL make you jump. if you aren't scared by this then you are a freak of nature. ou are teleported into a hall of flowing red fluid (not blood, just red for a freaky effect) Outside the hall is a junkload of icthyousaurs, there are no lights so you cannot see them if the jump out at you into the hall(which they do!). One jumped at me an I almost had a heart attack!And running straight won't help you either, the hall is curved so you must use your flashlight and it stinks to be you when you shine your flashlight around the corner and an icthyousaur is RIGHT at the edge of the wall charging you (another thing that nearly gave me a heart attack). now if thats not enough to get you really anxious to see this map, I don't know what is. PS, horror map is almost done.
