Just direct your ambient_generic or whatever your usin for sound to the sound folder indicated in the .pak.

Ex: ambiencealien_beacon.wav (best sound ever)

Set up the two models (upper half, lower half of Barney) and make a func_breakable in between the two models. exture it so that it looks close enough to the rest of Barney as you see fit. Then set the gibs to flesh and have your laser run through it. Tada! I haven't tested this but it seem too logical to not work.

Your paths are wrong. If its a cs map you're probably either sending the bsp to your cstrike folder instead of your valve folder. Why check a cs map in Half Life anyway?

You can just replace the ladder sound. If you have Wanted!, that has a pretty good ooden ladder sound. Takes no coding either.

PS: Did anyone notice that all my good maps are city maps? I guess whoever said it was right, I can map good cities, nothing else haha. Well, I guess I should continue on es_station then (see thread Gaining Skills) as es_station is based on winter_city.

Every time someone asks for an example there is always someone who uses a ridiculously hard way. Like if you want a locked door I bet someone thought of suggesting a door texture tid to the world and a trigger_multiple right in front of it. the trigger multilple activates an ambient_generic which plays a locked door sound. But Ive never done this and dont plan to either.

You wouldnt think that the hud color would matter much. Its monochrome anyway and I bet Valve would keep it normal. But is it even possible to make the screen COLOR black and white? Because you cant use env_fade for that can you?

take the model you want to use, then go to expert mode on the hostage_entity then go to the part key for the hostage model and put your model in.

In theory, if you group a func_rotating to a trigger_teleport, you SHOULD get a teleporter that spins around right? Well I tried this for a map but the trigger_teleport stayed in the same place while the func_rotating spun around. Is there something else I have to do? Or is this just not possible?

Anonmymous, if ouve been around since the original the_towers then you should really consider joining.
And as a response to Zombieloffie, they are supposed to be that big. They are The Towers! An area of the 6th dimension! they are awesome. Too bad I cant use vis on this map though. I compiled it with vis and it lagged the map, without vi it didnt lag. Suprising? It certainly suprised me!
And for Anthony, yes I am texturing them. Those are actually arlready textured but its hard to tell from the small picture.

You can already see one of the new areas, look around the middle of the main tower. Those rings will rotate and there are 2 green crystals also spinning around the main tower, touch one and you can teleport back to the top of the towers.

Ok, Remeber my old Counter Strike map, the_towers? Well I took the idea and am now completely remaking it from scratch for Half Life with a WHOLE LOT more areas and a new alien environment.
