Thankyou, Urb!
For the lack of my.php? You are most welcome.

No phone line means no net connection. :(

Urb suddenly remembers the new possibility of wireless broadband

YAY! I'll see what I can do.

However it may not be for a while seeing as my recent road accident has cost me a total of ?350 so far.

As for the soldier, for reasons best known to itself, the TFC soldier model came up with a red skin and when armed with a shotgun would crash the game.

Here's one last update. I scraped the shitty TFC soldier in place of Romka's Male Assassin model. Credit will be given and I will ask permission before I actually implement it into the mod.

I edited the textures on the arms and legs and added a helmet also with edited textures.

[this thread is not intended to offend anyone. It is simply a personnal observation and I do not wish to start a fireplace]

Is it just my imagination or has the Source SDK opened the world of mapping to n00bs!? I have just glanced through the 'Source Mapping' section in the forums and it just looks like half the people on there have just dived into hammer and started making blocks and cylinders and calling it a map. This is what I was afraid of when I first used the Source SDK. Making a basic map is far too simple with source and half of the work (I'm talking of props here mostly) is done for you.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a post yet saying "I've opened this hammer thingy and I've just got loads of buttons and 4 black boxes. WTF!?"

Update. The crowbar nasty pick axe replacement has been replaced by a baton with some nice shiny blackness going on (although honestly it looks like a dildo in the game cos you cant see the grip until you attack with it) and some nice custom thwacking sounds.

Also I have replaced the HGrunt with TFC's high def soldier model. I think its looking pretty damn cool.

Well, its happened before but I believe this time its going to stick for a while. The new relationship is going well, make that incredibly well and I've never been happier. However I quite quickly realised that this girl is THE ONE and therefore life must go on and things must go up to the next level. I'm moving into my own flat. Hurray for freedom and all that.

However this flat, my relationship and work is going to be where all of my time goes from now until God knows when. Basically I will not be able to afford my lovely internet connection that I clutch to so dearly and even if I could the property is rented, doesn't have a land line and never will.

So I'm into my last week of Internet access. I will continue to work on my mods and although I won't be open to constructive critisism I will take into account what I have learned from everyone here at TWHL. Although I may pop up from time to time it will be a very rare occassion. One day I will return properly, I know that without a doubt but I'm thinking no sooner than a year or two, when I either mess things up with this perfect woman or get a place with a phone connection and a much better paying job.

As for now I'm here and will be for one more week.

Goodbye's are always so hard.

If god exists why are dinosaurs not included in the bible? Surely if there are fossils and entire skeletons still being dug up to this day then they did exist once. If god was the creator of dinosaurs why did he see fit to destroy them? Surely that would be a serious mis-use of his power and all christians would be pissing their pants in the knowledge that he could do it again.

Another thing. They say people stop believing in god when they don't get what they pray for. They explain by saying that god cannot see to everyones needs. I thought he was al powerful. :

Your mind is at work all the time. Even while your body sleeps your mind creates dreams and keeps working 24/7 in order to maintain your memories and such. When we die, where does the minds mental existance go?

qft!?

Quoted For Truth (Internet jargon) - Used on internet forums following a quote to make sure that the first 'poster' cannot go back and change what they've already posted. An alternative meaning is that the 'quoter' quotes the first 'poster' in order to show that the 'quoter' agrees with the 'poster'. An example conversation looks like this: "The sky is blue" and then "qft".

Was that aimed at me?

Reads the posts from Saribous. Reads the post from MNuTz.

Ah, the air has cleared. Still I shall be avoiding this thread. All threads involving opinions about the world/religion/personal feelings tend to cause trouble.

Ah the Hell with it. I would say I particularly fit into any group. Somtimes I'll be happy in Jeans and T-Shirt other times I'll have the baggy black SoHo trousers and an MCR shirt with cuffs and bands and chains or whatever. I tend to dress depending on how I feel. If I'm feeling fairly confident I'll put on my punky grungey clothes. However if I have a bad day I might just wear somthing casual to blend in and get by without turnig any heads.

However most people do judge on looks and when I used to wear a black hoody and black trousers I got abuse from most people yet whe I'd wear a shirt and jeans and pass the same people and they wouldn't say a word.

So I agree that you cannot judge someones personality on looks but as MNuTz points out if you see sombody who appears to have a certain style you may catagorize them at first.

For instance at my college in the first few weeks. One guy who looked like a complete geek was actually a punk rock loving crazy-ass skater who must have lost both his bollocks by now. One lad who looked kind of disabled was actually the smartest kid in the class. Another lad who looked like a scary ass goth...well...he was a scary ass goth but they were all really nice people. So I agree that you shouldn't judge somone on looks but I know that it definatly makes a big deal on first impressions.

As for emo kids. I don't know any. But I do like a bit of emo rock myself. That doesn't mean anything though, seeing as I can listen to classical music or heavy metal or anything for that matter. If I like the sound of it I'll listen to it. So basically what I'm saying is this. Nobody fits into any particular catagory because nobody is exactly the same. (which also counts for twins, not on a genetic level but they might like different things to one another.) However first impressions are made on how you express yourself and clothing and appearance is one of the key factors.

breathe...

As for the original question in this topic: "Yes, we get emo kids in the UK too."
