i no i tried ages ago but i hav no idea how to make the skin textures, like what texture etc

and well i tried wit textures i had and it came up wit error cannot open blah blah so i basically gave up on it :(

u got the wrong idea i guess it was my fault i didnt explain it right

ok i hav a number of noses and sounds a songs, they are all converted into.wav by cool edit 2000 now i hav triggered them and they work but sum of them work and i realise that the ones that dont work are longer than 30 secnds so they dont seem to play at all

now what entity do i use to make it play long .wav ;)

it seems you cant use ambient_generic to play long songs so what do i use instead? :D

i am using loads of ambient_generics but i noticed that they stopped working halfway through the map

so i was wondering if there is a limit to the amount of ambient_generics u can use :

ok people im almost done but u failed to mention one scare that even i havent used yet that i thought of a sec ago

i noticed in hl that sum rooms had big corridors that seemed safe but then a big explosion occurs and it scares the crap outta ya if u dont expect it, also headcraps jumping out of walls etc (i can tell ur all running out of ideas but prove me wrong cause i no ur brains are humungus (cant spell)

what i want to do is make a train sequence where it moves through different places like at the beggining of hl wer u enter black mesa (i want sumthing like that, now i have the train already made but now i hav to build a track, and the map itself but i need info before i map otherwise i may waste my precious time

are u are slightly correct toon as i put a monster_generic on my map but because i had to do sumthing else for an hour i forogt all about it and didnt fill in the model name etc so i deleted now and it seems to hav worked again so thnx anyway ;)

any idea what that means cause this only happened a sec ago and the only thing i hav done is made a track but because the train track texture is stretched on long tracks i broke the track into little segments so the texture isnt all stretched! i will delete them and see if not i wil be so annoyed :x

ok i asked this before in a way but its completely different ish
everyone nos the good ol hl intro train sequence
and i wish to make one not as good as that but slightely similar
it will take a lot of work and i wanna no how they did sum of the things
if u dont remember it then i suggest you play hl again just to jog memory
if ther is an example map plz do tell
i hav the train already made wit seats etc but now i want to make the sequence where it moves etc in a sorta base cause i am not making a mod (not experienced enough yet) i just want to make a map pack where you travel through a train place on a train then you stop at a place (havent decided what this place is yet)

so what i want to you answer if you didnt understand is all the things valve used to make the train sequence in hl

thnkyou to whoever replies even if its not answering Q lol :D

i no but to save room i am cramming everything in and pushing hlto the limit and i really dont want to waste space on a little block where a zombie sits

basically u need to assign the trigger_once to the entity amient_generic, by the way if you want the sound to play on hl or any other game you have to first put the song, noise in the hl/valve/ sounds folder where the game looks for sounds otherwise it will say cannot find song.wav etc help this helps ;)

ok i wantto make it so it plays my scary music as you enter the lobby, but i also hav a scream sound plays in the lobby as well so will it stop the scary music and play the scream instead cause i want the music to carry on without any interuptions

but getting stressed and shuting f****ing blah blah is like stooping down to his level i just sound smart and say comments they dont understand and howz peopels horror maps doing? i no mine is fricking scaring me and i giv a hint to a scare in it ' lets just say u hear crying and then you enter a room with a woman but then lights go out and on again and shes gone but instead you hear evil laughter muha ha (this idea was given to me by the great 'ministeve' and if i get it to work properly then i credit him loads muah ha ha ha

i hope this compo continues im working real hard on it just for this comp and if the comp is cancelled man will i be ****************** :x :x :x

on the contrary uve all helped me and yes i was thinking of using a boss but ive read ther posts and letters etc and i quote ' if your making a good map then dont include the allboring as perusual boss as it ruins the game'

i got this from another thread so dont go complaining to me lol

keep them up i fixed bugs on horror as well cause of annoying lights and zombies that dont attack? weird

one thing puzzles me im trying to make it scary of course : but it isnt scary if you hear the flipping zombie as your walking into a empty room so how do i shut it up i put on gag but no luck?

hmm the way i do it is get game_text place it anywhere then make a wall and assign it to trigger_once then i target that to the name of the game text and voila it works seems simple when u get the hamg of it

it all seems simple once you realise that a lot of things have to triggered

everything around you in maps are triggered ho ho :D

isnt it exactly the same i mean just the same program but different names my intro screen when i open hammer is hammer 3.5 but ive never actually seen a title screen or anything wit the name worldcraft all i heard was its the same i mean exactly the same :D :lol:

any more ideas coz i need a few more to complete map ive done things like zombies coming out of walls, light room goes dark and a zombie appears behind you, had vents that most people would think had headcrabs inside but you keep going and a headcrab appears behind you, had breakable floors, custom sounds of moans, screams, creepy suspense music, dark flashy rooms and im running out of ideas so if yuo hav any plz do share it wit me
