darn it i seem to hav 4 got how to make sumthing invisible

is it that u either use
func_illusion
or u make a block assign invisible texture to it

cause the 2nd one doesnt work for me cause instead of it being invis it seems to go black? :

ummm i did as u said and it worked yeah but it seems to hav made my sci appear under the ledge and slightly under the floor

this is odd as i raised him on hammer just a sec ago :

o ok thnx thats sumthing new to me but uhh u see i want the scientist to hang on a ledge and well if his hands dont touch the ledge its not going to look realistic but i dont care as long as the yellow crap goes

well not exactly more like spore on my screeen

i am yet again continuing horror map and thought why not hav a scientist hanging off a lede then a trigger makes him fall so i did all te stuff tested it and it worked fine well i need to position the scientist a bit more cause his hanging in mid air lol

well basically i thought it looked fine untill i realised there was yellow spore crap around the scientist, and i remeber seeing that b4 sumwer but not wen the scientists are hanging on half life

so one thing how the hell do i stop that yellow crap from appearing around my character arrrrghhh :

hmm thats odd i never seen a mirror ther wel i havent played cs in a while well if the mirror reflects the player then i hav no idea how they did that cause a lot of threads say its impossible to make a mirror that relflects a person but u can make a mirror seethrough and copy the entire room and rotate it opposite to the map and place it so it faces the mirror and voila a sort of mirror in a cheating kind of way

very clever as well actually :D

na its just fate that has u but basically sounds like ur compilar is either

1.sendingur .bsps to another folder wer the game doesnt look
2.ur config on hammer is wrong
3.all of the above

i hav experienced lag sumtimes and as above im just going to say similar things either

1. ur running too many programs which is unlikely
2. ur comp is so full it need to be defragged and maybe sum stuff u dont need to be deleted
3.uve got too much stuff on ur map (too many entities that get complicated lag it)
4.all of the above

well thats all i can say sorry if it doesnt work im sure if you keep trying ull come through it ;)

ok i am still working on my horror map and i wanted a scientist to run across a high balcony above you and into a room which triggers the sound scream and the gibshooter to shoot blood below so i first tried to get the scientist to run from 1 end to the other but he just stands their like an idiot oh and yes i hav included the trigger im not that dumb

help me!!!

umm u hav to edit sumthing umm i think its the sentences.txt but u make sure u back it up in case errors and well maybe a smarter person can answer ur question cause im not entirely sure :

maybe if u assign the target of the push to the thing u want to move im not sure but if it dont work u can assign a func_train to the func pushable to giv the illusion its being pushed but keep it pushable so wen sum1 goes upto it it will move im not sure entirely though so ignore me :

i remember a bit in half life wen you enter a room and a scientist is being pulled into a vent then blood and guts comes out which was pretty hilarious the first time so i wanted to no how they did it ino they used a sequence on the scientist so that it is pulled but the blood and guts bit puzzles me so if u no tell me plz

well its a trick i learnt i think u could make a huge block or brush as u brains call it then make it so it covers the bit u want to delete then go to tolls and carve it will get rid of it but its risky cause of its problems try it and see if im right :D

umm the same thing happened to me cause it came up with

and then it has hlcsg.exe has encountered a problem etc etc so i need to figure out whats wrong

and i figured out that it was not the compiling fault but the map itself cause it had cliffs in it that i 'borrowed' off another map but it seems those cliffs wernt made for half life so i suggest making another map and see if it works :D :

ok odd title but basically i am making a horror map and wanted to trigger a custom sound called getout.wav quite spooky actually anyway i set the trigger to target getout and the ambient_generic called getout should play the getout sound at first it didnt work cause i realised i need to put it in a ambient folder so i did that and tested it worked i heard the sound but the only thing is instead of triggering it it seems to play automatically at the start of the map and nothing i try seems to make it work so i trigger it odd i think so help me plz
