Are you talking about compiling over a network?

I very much doubt that your 'cool textures' are slowing down the compile process much, unless you have scaled them down hugely ? and I think it even less likely that VISing distributedly will help.

gl_wireframe 1/2 (2 draws everything the engine is rendering, 1 culls the frame behind solid objects)

impulse 76 for Grunt-O-Matic to my knowledge.

r_drawflat for just that, if I remember correctly. Software mode only.

Andy, I was thinking of CS:S, and how people have pretty much had to decompile the old CS maps to make the VALVe-unmade ones, to keep the gameplay the same. I mean, if VALVe do remake that particular map, the decompiled one'd die off anyway. I did it for an iceworld for a friend and I.

I've had quite a few downloads of my maps. I think it was a couple of thousand on the 'Vault ones, I can't remember. Not a clue how popular the competition winning (heh) maps were/are.

Not a clue how well-known I am. Doubt that anyone outside of here knows me as a mapper particularly.
