Yeah, things will still happen, but with significant (and very annoying) delays.

I have tried activating and de-activating UAC, but that did not make any difference.

When I disabled the Realtek audio control panel on startup, it did help a little, but not much.

I have re-assigned my computer's IP and DNS server addresses so that they are static instead of dynamically assigned, and that also helped a little bit.

Maybe it's just something that we have to deal with. Oh well, I guess waiting 10 seconds each time I boot up won't kill me.

I think in this economy, it's getting increasingly more difficult for AMD to ever catch up with Intel.

I used to prefer AMD, because it offers a better deal for similar performance. Intel has priced their newest CPU's rather competitively, considering how much faster they are. AMD will keep playing catch-up, until they can no longer do even that.

That's why I bought hundreds of shares of Intel stocks recently.

I noticed something with Vista 64.

When I first boot up my computer, the OS loads rather fast, but even after the desktop appears, there would be a 10 second delay before I can do anything.

This means that if I tried to click on the Windows Start button or start a program, nothing would happen. But 10 seconds later, whatever that I did would occur.

Does anyone else experience this lag? Is this normal and expected for Vista?

I know this brilliant builder for just the job. He lives down a few doors from me. I've heard great things about him. I'm sure he'll have no problem building this global-sized Berlin Wall for us.
Is his name Bob?

How come you're getting an AMD chip? Why not a Core2 or Quad Core? Clock speed isn't so meaningful anymore.

All those Aperture Lab posters I put up yesterday fell down overnight.

The one that's over his crib fell into his crib, so he thoroughly molested it into a crumbled mess.

Oh well. They were good for a day.

Perhaps it's the visuals that are captivating me for now. I don't really mind the chores, as long as I get to walk around and enjoy the weather, the change of scenery, and the nice sound effects.

I have never been to Africa, so this is my poorman's trip there.

I spend most of my time staring at the shadows on the wall and the elapse of time. In fact, I woke up at 4 am in the morning and just stood in front of a shack and watched the sun set (I guess it's 6:30 pm Africa time in the game).

Problem is in America; Stupid people can get jobs when they know someone in the business. Those stupid people take place of smarter, more qualified people, and the country goes to shit.
That happens in all countries, all over the world.

I think the educational system did me well, but I think it's all about expectations. Generally speaking, American parents expect very little from their children. It's no wonder why these children don't amount to anything when they grow up.

I expect a lot from my son. He should be mapping by the time he can count to 10.

If it takes you more than 30 seconds to run from one end of the map to the farthest end of the map, it's too big.

It should take less than ten seconds to run from one bomb site to the other.
