There are many tutorials out there and probably a good few on here as well when it comes to the conversion and compilation of half life models, Try this one to gain a good grasp of how the system works, then you can try moving onto creating one from scratch.

No, look for them, THEN add or remove them. :/

Although, ironically depending on the situation, it actually really does help sometimes. All it takes is one fucking minuscule character, ONE character to break over thousands of lines of codes. I swear to god web designers and coders must have the strongest therapy to put up with it.

Actually it's fixed now???

EDIT: Didn't read shout, GJ&GG Joebama.

Also you tell me exactly when I said it was easy to code and maintain a website, and if so, then also tell me when I said I could do better. I'm not saying he's incapable of running a site.

This new addition has been long overdue and he had done it over just a few people requesting it, and moreover he added it to the existing code instead of TWHL4, so instead of waiting for the complete overhaul [So to speak] we get it now, which I am grateful for because again, this has been long overdue, new code or not. I had merely created this thread because he had closed the last one and I wasn't entirely sure how many people had been encountering the same problem at the time.

Lastly, I've never personally 'coded' a entire site but I had worked with mambo for little over a year now and I fully understand how frustrating shit can get when managing code, I had been in the process of editing the template CSS when I intended to remove some elements off the screen and accidentallyd a closing bracket and fucked my entire website over and I could figure out what the fuck had happened for two days straight when I finally screwed my head back on correctly and counted the brackets.
I also do very very light programming with a engine called GML, and when you're attempting to do everything out of code, including the creation of rooms, setting the dimensions of rooms based on the users monitor, scaling objects based on the users screen, attempting to convert the pixels of the users monitor onto a 0-1 scale for proper scaling of objects, then successively getting a proper 16:9 scale out of it, shit get's difficult to organize and manage, and everything you understood a couple seconds ago suddenly morphs into absolute gibberish when you need to go back and edit something later on.

Just a small minuscule annoyance, if you're to add light bulb models, then you should just change the entire 'inset' to a flat metal panel texture, it won't look good if you still use that texture. Other then that, points for detailing.

Point being, DivX is extremely outdated, outdone, and to use it is like using an original Xbox over an Xbox 360.

No matter how you see it, it's taking at least twice the filesize of a decent codec to gain quality that isn't even as good. It's fast. That's about it.

Regardless, how the hell can you possibly think that for ANY given task, that a larger filesize with worse quality is acceptable?

It doesn't matter if it's going on youtube or such, because you're taking a longer time to upload for an inferior quality video, which in turn is going to be made even worse quality by the youtube conversion process.

"It's just for a youtube video" isn't an excuse.

That's like saying paying more for a inferior product just because you only need it for 'personal use' is alright just because you don't need it for other uses.

Sure, a comparison of DivX .avi encoding vs a H264 Matroska Encoding:

Both encodes have bitrate set to 904kbps, resolution of 540x288, and framerate of 20.

Filesize comparison between two identical bitrates:

The DivX encode comes out as being slightly larger, but how does this translate, quality wise?

Not good, it seems.
To gain the same quality as a 904kbps H264 encode, I have to increase the bitrate to a much higher level, and raise the filesize in the process.

Ninetnine had provoked us too. You get what you give.
And that makes it right? Real mature.

You see, the one person I hold the highest respect to in this entire forum is Strider, for he is easily the most reputable and respectful person I'd even met of anybody I know period. Real life or internet., he doesn't have an "you piss me off then ill just piss you off more" attitude, and no matter how out-of-line something may be he will still respond in a respectful and even matter, even back with my dramatic bullshit HL2-in-HL1 mod, he was still respectful and insightful, whereas many of the members I know here will just simply go off the minute their own integrity is threatened, and will often not bother to think for two seconds if maybe just somehow, they might be wrong.

If somebody drops a smartass comment at you and you're only response is to drop a smartass comment back at them, then congratulations, you've just drooped to their lowest level.

If you find these fundamental questions provoking then you are just another one of those who thinks that religion shouldn't be open for discussion.
NineTnine believes that some people can perform thought-based time travel because he read it in a book.
Know what else he believes in because he read it in a book?
Yeah.
With such obviously flawed views (and that was only one example) which most sane Christians are sensible enough to disagree with, why do you buy into the other stuff? If half of it is proven bullshit, why do you insist on believing the other half?
Why won't you think for yourselves?!
These aren't questions, these are questions that are deliberately intended to provoke people who believe in religions. I have no religious views, and I personally believe religions are bullshit, but to constantly shove "You can't think for yourself" down somebody's throat constantly, is worse then just believing in a religious god to me.

in Dreams Post #296548
As time goes on my dreams are beginning to get more lucid and more life-like [realisticetc] then before, and for once in my life I'd actually had been able to fly, with full control of myself.

I don't remember this too clearly as it was a good while ago [weeks, maybe even months], but as I remember I was sitting at my window looking out at some fireworks show that was apparently going on, and I saw some massive building all the way at the opposite end of the horizon, for some reason I felt I wanted to go to this building and so, I just simply.... Floated out of the window? To say, and then I was just flying. Lucid as I was I just started towards the building and then just did a bunch of laps around the corners of it, then I just went to another dream.

I don't remember colors in that dream [Maybe the fireworks], but one thing I can easily remember is that I'd had several, if not dozens of dreams so far that have utilized some form of colors, perhaps for emphasis on certain objects of interest, or the entire dream was in color, it is usually on things that one would consciously associate colors with, for example cars.

we just want answers.
And you know goddamned well you're not going to get [polite] 'answers'.

I know you're both trying to ask in a respectful manner, but you're not, you're dropping comments that you know are going to provoke him, and you're still bringing up the exact same thing as before.

EDIT: I agree, nobody should be 'raised' on religion, they should wait until the kid is old enough to make their own choices, their own beliefs and choose their own paths, not be raped from the beginning and have religion constantly rammed down their throat.

But on the opposite extreme, if you leave them out of religion until they're older, then chances are they'd have grown up around a lot of atheist kids who believe religion is bullshit and people who believe it are complete morons, and then they grow up to hate religion.

The thing is when it's resorting to continuous retorts and attacks upon both sides, it's not civilized and it's immature. It's nice to have the discussion, sure, but the discussion that's taking place right now isn't all that mature, judging from the comments being dropped.
