I can't play online with the demo anyway. Whenever I tried to connect to a server, the search gets stuck in an infinite loop, and I end up in an empty lobby.

Why is there a count-down clock on the demo? Does it mean that once the full game is released, the demo no longer works?

If I ever have a daughter, her name will be entirely unrelated to any videogame characters.
You're going to have a hard time finding a girl's name then.

There are so many games out there.

I was looking into "Left 4 Dead" this evening, and I realized that Valve has stolen my idea for the game.

Do I have a legitimate reason to sue Valve? I submitted the idea to Valve many years ago, and they made it into a game without crediting me.

Thanks.

So do I click on the enemy once or multiple times?

Do I always select the drop down list to select the attack mode?

How do I heal myself or my teammates mid-combat?

I am playing the 2003 game KOTOR right now, and this will be my first formal introduction to the RPG genre.

Just exactly how do I engage my character and allies in combat? I don't really shoot anything, so I am confused. It's about tossing dice or something.

Can anyone give me some hints and tips?

It's better for people to go nuts over WoW than other things.

I know parents who beat their children until they're unconscious. A two-year-old girl was kicked to death by her step-father. People get behind bars because they microwaved their babies to death.

At least WoW doesn't hurt other people.

Because getting the drivers and such for XP would be a pain in the butt.

Plus, my wife insists on buying Windows XP. She's a software engineer, and she doesn't want me to pirate.

It doesn't make sense to buy XP while she already has Vista pre-installed. It's like paying for the OS twice.

My mom just called. She managed to find a similar eMachine at WalMart for $298 that has Windows XP installed. So she bought it.

Which means that I won't be upgrading for some time.

I know I could do better if I build my own, but for an extreme budget PC, I am not sure the saving is worth the trouble of building something.

Thanks anyway.

I need help fast!

My mom's computer died suddenly yesterday. I went to her place to fix it this afternoon, but I found that either the mobo or the HDD is fried (most likely the HDD). It's a piece of shit computer that's seven years old anyway, so I figure I'll buy her a new one.

So I went to BestBuy (only about five minutes away) and got her another piece of shit eMachine computer for $299.

The problem is that when I got back, she found out it runs Vista (all the new computers run Vista now), and she declared that she cannot learn how to use this piece of shit OS.

So, I have to return this Vista eMachine, and I have to give her my current Windows XP machine.

That gives me exactly one week to buy and build a computer for myself.

Any suggestion for specs? I am thinking a Core2Duo with 2GB of RAM with an ATI graphics card. I am sick and tired of nVidia display driver crashing my games.

Thanks in advance.

in Ati Driver .....ONNA ..... Post #255733
I have an nVidia card, and the driver crashes HL2 occasionally.

It is the latest driver. When I updated the driver, I was hoping that the problem would be resolved. It hasn't.

It crashes at random spots. The game would just freeze, and I had to reboot to get my computer going again.

I never had such problem with my older ATI 9800 Radeon Pro.
