Half of the money donated was because of Gabe. And really stop bitchin around, if you have a pc suck it up and use a mouse/keyboard combo like you have been since the dawn of pc's. If you're an idiot buy a console and enjoy playing overpriced games with a controller.
I sense a lot of smashed tv and monitor screens in the future.

Okay so i did some of my own testing with what i had available to test with.
All tests were performed on the latest vhlt build on dm_quakearena (again what i had available) with these settings:
HLBSP -subdivide 256
HLVIS -full
HLRAD -extra -bounce 16

Note that hlbsp uses all available threads inspite being told not to :(

And immediately we see that having an 4 core 8 thread processor doesn't give you much advantage over only 4 threads.

So saw Prometheus yesterday and i gotta say im not impressed. Im not that type of guy who pays a lot of attention to logic, but it seemed a bit nonsense to me. The ship was nice, very "Alien" like and spacious (About the only thing i liked). But the urns it just wasn't the place for them. I can't think of this as an Alien prequel because how could a mindless flesh eating creature escape from a planet like that, although...

I really think everyone should buy a pc and destroy any thing that plugs into a TV and lets you play games w/o mouse and keyboard.

Although I was never interested in E3 apart maybe from valve showing something.

You still have to compile, and depending on how big the chamber is it takes long so you don't really win on compile time.

Maybe its an experiment like Carmack did with RAGE capping it at 60fps which ruined it, ME3 that you all hated the ending and many other fine examples. Everyone has a net connection these days, its a good exploit for companies like blizzard. So if you want to play an overhyped game wait a few months till the hype goes down and play it w/o ever dropping out. In other words: deal with it.

Well lighting entities is one way i can think this would be useful and even that could be made static. If BF3 is the only game with d.radiosity (correct me if wrong), why isn't it any different from Crysis 2 or some other good looking game?

From what i could see on the videos, one "cube" is 128 units so making an overhang will look silly. While i do kind of agree that this was a good idea to give a start to new mappers, this also just kills mapping. If i were a noob and put together a decent test chamber using this, then heard of a tool called hammer, tried it and found out that i could barely put a room together i wouldn't use it. It just takes all the fun out of learning how to properly make levels.

It's static because static lighting doesn't allow it to be more dynamic.

Like Grim said it doesn't give you much difference, hl would look exactly the same as it did with static lighting at a performance drop.
Does BF3 look good ? Not really and it also sucks all your cpu out.

USB is more practical, there is power provided, 5m cables whereas sata provides no power, up to 1m of cable, big controllers so yeah its intended purpose is disk drive interconnections rather then peripherals.

Back in the day usb wasn't such a big port, before manufacturers started implementing usb drivers into chipsets to support booting of it. Not like now where you can hook anything into anything with usb. Though even in new boards with usb3 its not always possible to boot from.

Usually they should fit onto a regular cd, had no problems with ubuntu installs.

Also does that system even support cd boot ? Being you got win95 there.
