2000 is almost certainly better. As for your security woes, I'd suggest that using a decent free firewall like Sygate, an anti-virus like avast! and a good browser like Firefox or Opera should keep you completely safe. Does me, anyway.

Anyone know whether CRTs are likely to attenuate the 802.11g signal? I'm having some fair problems with strange powerful bursts of noise. I suspect it might be another wireless LAN, perhaps?
