honestly I would prolly say yes because im desperate for a job, I would take a job offer from EA at the moment. I havent gone as far as applying for the atomic weapons establishment yet though.

Making maps for a gaming company is a little different than selling that which you have already made to a gaming company, if someone offered money for my back catalogue of maps I'd tell them to F.O.

So painters, singers, and film producers should not get paid for making art? They already enjoy what they do, so why should they get paid at all?
and when they are you introduce licensing and it all becomes a huge mess, obviously they have to make a living but you have to admit the music and film industries have turned shite in recent times all because of pursuit of profit over actual art (god that sounds socialist)

Personally I believe that the majority of people on here would rather people wanted to play their maps or view their 'art' rather than making money off of it. Thinking about it the whole 'this was necessary' argument doesnt even make sense, how come so many other mods have managed it despite their popularity.

I have that opinion about work, but this is art, there is a massive difference to me. As fun as it would be to make money doing something I love, even if it were possible I just couldnt charge people for what I make (no snide comments please), even if Ive put 7 months effort into it.

Please, do tell. I have never heard of this game and am yet to find a plot which is more cheese whip filled than Piriah and alike.
Starts with one of the most interesting gaming plots that have come around for a while, very well executed as a 'pseudo free-will' game with consequences for every action.

However
FAHRENHEIT/INDIGO PROPHECY SPOILER ALERT

towards the end of the game its getting progressively more rediculous, with the protagonist exhibiting superhuman powers. It all culminates in a 1/2 hour orgy of shit writing where there is both a totally implausible fight scene ripped straight from the matrix, the introduction of a new race AI that has nothing to do with the main plot so far, the introduction of an underground group of tramps who monitor the world, the protagonist having sex with the person investigating him for murder, despite being A WALKING CORPSE with no body warmth and hours earlier trying to kill each other and the ending, where despite the entire earth being plunged into an ice age that destroys everything, the main protagonists are sitting in the most over the top green field with bunnies and happy flowers
Its as if they look up deus ex machina and applied it directly to the plot of matrix revolutions to finish their crappy crappy game.
Friends of mine I unfortunately introduced to the game came to the same conclusion, what the fuck was the director thinking??

END SPOILER ALERT

oh yeah, ff, that great piece of vapourware
its a shame that this had to happen, Im only a few months old to the gmod community so I didn't know just how into disrepair it had gone, unfortunately the community im a part of just spent a load of money buying up new servers, which kind of ties us into paying anyway. I wonder if GSPs will have to fork out some dosh too.

it doesnt have a coherent plot, halflife's was so invisible you had to tack a lot of fan content on top to even discover what it was. If they use any more deus ex machinas i'm going to scream.

still, at least its not fahrenheit, which became my new scale for how bad game plots can become

everything you learn about physics, geometry, maths in school is wrong and thats usually the first thing you learn when you start a uni course in one of those subjects. They dumb down a lot of it to still plausible but older theories so kids can actually get their heads around it.

Im ignoring the fanboy comments and comparisons to CS:S, but its starting to feel like a slippery slope from what was my lovely leftist dream where licensing law doesnt exist and artists create content for free because they like creating the content/art. In many ways the modding community used to have that free reign, when you throw licensing and money into the situation everything becomes a beaureacratic mess. Lets all start charging ?1 for downloading our maps yay.

infinity is a concept that cannot be comprehended by the finite world and existance that we live in, if you cut an apply into infinate pieces each piece weighs 0 grams and has 0 volume, even the concept of nothing/zero was only realised in the 13th century when the roman numerical system was demolished by the onslaught of our current system from the african nations

I also used to work in a games shop called Electronic Boutique (now GAME) and the majority of games buyers know very little about PCs in general.
I feel the same way, thats why I shop at the technically-literate GAME. However where GAME staff are at a loss I have to turn to the mighty Dixons.

in itself what we know about infinity is already a summary of that which can never be fully comprehended but any finite piece on the subject of everything is inherently a summary

CS is the most popular mod and because most people find it more fun than pure deathmatch but around the same difficulty to learn how to play, cs being deathmatch with slightly more realism and round-based combat.

Due to it being the most popular it gets more 'idiots' than other mods.
Personally, I gave it up long ago, the mod is feature-bloated and tired.

and full of idiots.

im pretty certain that video is faked, bunny hopping is a bug that originates from the QUAKE engine, halflife 2 has a completely different physics engine and thus does not suffer from the problem.

olympics over the last century are quite an interesting subject satchmo, the americans used to win everything from the old numbers game, you simply had more competitors than everyone else because of a larger population (china/india were different back then). Then countries like russia came out of the blue to destroy the US winning streak with their hopeless abuse of drugs. Then australia came along and destroyed everyone using high technology, its a fun cyclical thing and itll be interested to see if a new generation of athletes will make a difference for us (thats us, the UK, not us, the us(a)) in 2012
