Also, are you new to mapping/mod making? It's best to not start a mod until you've gained enough experience. Try making little mappacks instead.

I'm having some doubts about the story. First of all, the player works at NASA. If the game is set in the (by my pisspoor calculations) 23rd century and we have already become a space-fairing civilization, wouldn't there have been enough time for NASA to be disbanded for a better government organization? I mean, by that time NASA would probably be considered obselete or renamed to something different.

Also, what is there on Neptune that is so important that it cannot be found on other planets in the Sol System? Gas?

Just seems that the story isn't well thought out to me. But I'm a sucker for detail, so eh.

What'd you use to make them? Acid? Fruity Loops? EJay? Reason?

After listening to your tracks, though, they sound kind of disorganized, like you were trying to throw in whatever you could get your hands on. But I'm no music expert so I'm pretty much talking out of my ass.

I also recommend posting your music on Acidplanet and maybe posting in the forums. You're likely to get better reviews there because that's where all the good artists hang out.

I don't think anyone's mentioned it, but you can also use any of the E-Jay variants to make music. Doesn't take a lot of knowledge or time to make music with this program (well, version 3 and below, anyway). Of course, it's not really advanced, and the one I have, Techno EJay 3, crashes often.

I think you use a func_illusionary for the wall and then put CLIP brushes around it so you can't go through it, but I could be wrong.

Also, if you don't know, to make the blue parts disappear you set the Render Mode of the func_illusionary to Solid and its FX Amount to 255.

Personally, I think it's better to develop an idea extensively before modding it, because you might end up just scrapping the entire thing and then you've wasted all that time mapping for nothing. So far it seems as if you haven't really got a decent story going.

You really don't need an alliance anyway. I've never joined an alliance and I've only been attacked once, for apparently no reason. I was able to rebuild my nation after that, too.

But I'm sick of all the alliance offers I keep recieving. It's like spam. "JOIN ALLIANCE X WE ARE TEH BETTARZ LOL!1!one" Like hell you are.

As much as I want to blame the Americans, I think it's like that all over the world, Boxtop.
Well, the reason I say American society is that American society is the only society I've ever really been exposed to, since I've lived here all my life. I'm not saying I blame Americans for anything.

I guess mapping and FPS's don't attract women, even the geeky kind.
I'm getting off topic (we already are, anyway), but AFAIK there are female FPS clans. I think there's a all-female Quake III Arena clan called Femme Fatal, or something. Plus I've been on some Unreal Tournament servers where there are women playing.

But I think the lack of female FPS players can be blamed on American society, because we establish gender roles for a child at a very early age. It sucks.
