Im too tired to read this thread anymore, can someone close it as it will NEVER EVER END, can we just agree that a lot of people here are british and some people are american and the post title 'dunce americans' is rather racist and stereotypical.

Yes and without britain america would still be full of native americuns, so there! Without britain you wouldnt have an iraq to invade! Without britain you wouldnt be independent from britain because we were not very nice to you when we ruled you!

Also I love when americans say they saved Britain in the war, I always point out that it would've been nice if they hadn't sat back till they were forced into the war by Japan before realising you cant be totally isolated from the rest of the world.

and dont say it doesnt matter who did what, IT ALL MATTERS THIS THREAD IS THE DEBATE THAT WILL END ALL DISCUSSION ON AMERICA VS UNITID KINGDUM

we're involved in our government? personally I love eduction reform and I make it a large part of my day to be involved in it

the major difference is that britain has become mostly secular and not based around a strict document like the interpreted-as-concrete consitution, we're also based around a parliamentary government system thats much older than america is

oh it is on

Americans invented the ARPANET, the military forerunner to the Internet
Tim berners lee invented the WWW as I said, the hyperlinks and websites that actually make up a large part of the internet today, without which it would just be another network

The term computer could be argued as to have been created by any number of people, it just depends how anal you want to be, in this case I would cite charles babbage glitter, who created his computer when america had only barely been founded, before taking it to differential engine world and getting caught for having kiddie porn in the gears.

America existed on a policy of isolationism for a large part of the last century, very few countries could have done that or still could do it today, America is abundant with natural resources and is conveniently located in such a way that have allowed it to flourish in a fraction of the time it has taken other countries. No country is founded by 'smarts' that doesnt even make sense.

america is so strong because it has a crapload of natural resources enough to make it self sufficient from the rest of the world. Also, the computer was invented by a brit, the www was invented by a brit, so dont diss you punk ass blood and who honestly gives a shit who it was that invented something

stereotypes are fun anyway

In many ways the only thing we share culturally is a language but its a shame the religious right stereotypes americans as 'stupid'. Afaik we brits dont all have bad teeth and speak in rediculous posh accents,

theres a small minority in a scottish town that dont.

I havent loaded steam in about 2 weeks now so I didnt know about it, goddamit I cant stop playing oblivion

Looking at the name, if its part of this whole 'episodic' bullshit the games industry thinks is the way forward I wont buy it. I want closure when I play a game, Im a frustrated completionist and I'm not going to play something where I have to spend months so someone at valve can work on some more levels and a crappy plot resolution (but hl2's plot was soooo gooodddddd!111)

dont get me started on gladiator, film of a thousand fx mistakes

Character movement is usually the biggest give-away for CGI, when its a physically impossible feat then no matter how well they try to keyframe it, it always looks unrealistic. Saying that, where there is little movement involved like in the final part of spiderman 2 where dococ falls away into the water, I was completely unaware the ENTIRE scene was CGI, I honestly thought it was a greenscreen character with cgi elements.

so thats why the third matrix film was an advert for maya/max
And to be honest if you cant tell the difference between CGI and Actual footage (which, granted, is getting more and more difficult these days) there is somthing wrong with you
Why? Only someone who has ever done 3d modelling and knows what to look for can really tell that something is unreal, that or because the scene would be impossible to do in real life. Theres a lot of times in the movies where they have actually done a scene on green screen and I thought it was entirely CGI rendered so you have to give them some credit.

and of course this thread went off the point, where was it going to go??
