Doors on the lift: no. Not without Spirit.

Gravity: trigger_gravity brush-based entity.

in Where do I find my models and sprites? Post #50023
Well, I've set it up so that my valvemaps directory is in two places at once, so that every map I compile and put in WON HL is in Steam HL's map directory too. Little tool called Winbolic Link (NTFS only for the more powerful NTFS junctions, which are the ones you need for anything decent).

in The TWHL FAQ Post #50018
Do not try to run Steam HL/a mod at the end of a compile as it almost invariably ends up dying with the message "filesystem.dll missing" blah blah and scaring people.

Start the map however you would if it was completed.
If you want to map for Steam and can't find the textures, use GCFScape to extract them from SteamAppshalf-life.gcf (or your mod). It doesn't matter where to, as the WADs you unpack will only be used in Hammer, not by Steam itself.
Read every single tutorial.

in Where do I find my models and sprites? Post #50017
Yes. If you need to... but it'd probably be a good idea to keep it for map-testing purposes as it's a lot quicker and easier.

If you're short on space, you could just delete the mod directories in Half-Life, leaving the original HL stuff (probably only need valve, but don't count on it).

in Diagonals - Newbie Question Post #50013
Vertex Manipulation is probably the best, as it ensures that all the points stay on the gridlines. If you've got stuff not on the grid (when the grid is set to size one {use the '[' and ']' keys to resize it}) then you're more likely to end up with tiny leaks. Look up 'leak' in our glossary if you don't understand.

We've got two V.M. tutorials too. Check 'em out if you haven't already.

Yup. That's why I recommended not telling Steam to launch automatically at the end. I knew there was a reason when I said it, just couldn't remember it :)

Launch your map normally, i.e. create a server running your map after launching S&I as you always do.

In that case you can't use an armoury_entity. I doubt that the NVG has a w_ model anyway.

Use a game_player_equip instead. See the "Knives Only" example map for details, just change it to weapon_nightvision.

You have a leak. You can't have a window (nor any type of entity) on the outside of the map with nothing beyond... what should it draw through it?

Remove that func_wall entity: turn it back to a normal brush by clicking "To World" just under the texturing panel.

Hm, well, it worked with a) a deathmatch, and b) different textures. Retexture the walls with something really plain, like a cs_dust.wad texture, or "steel" from halflife.wad. I'm fairly sure that's the problem.

I don't think it's with an underscore as "setinfo" is a HL/CS command. I think you'll find (and from my memory of doing this too) that it's "setinfo [variablename]".

I also seem to recall that the default variable name starts with an underscore.
