SpaceShipOne has rocketed into the history books to become the first private manned spacecraft to fly to the edge of space and back.

The craft, built by aviation pioneer Burt Rutan, went over space's 100km (62 mile) boundary, said mission control.

It was carried to 50,000ft (15km) by its launcher White Knight at which point it was unleashed. It fired its rockets to continue its trip.

Mr Rutan was on the runway to embrace pilot Mike Melvill on his return.

They paid an emotional tribute to each other after the flight.

"It was a mind-blowing experience - an awesome thing," said Mr Melvill.

Get, and use, Zoner's Half-Life Tools immediately. If it still doesn't work, you've probably set up compiling wrong. Consult the tutorials.

If you still have problems, post the whole compile log.

emit_sound : pitch 346 or "sv_startsound: sound = 2550"

This is a sound collision that can happen when 2 entitys try to make the same sound at the same time. An example: 2 trains running the same rail sound, both trains started by the same button so they try to open the sound file at the same time. The only known solution is to turn off the sound fx for both entitys....but that was for one case, feel free to experiment!
(For the SV also see SVC_BAD - since I am uncertain if it may not be related to memory overflow of too many entitys loading too many wavs into the precache. sv_startsound is just a guess so far....)
You can also try typing developer 3 into the console while playing the map, then walking through a trigger that targets the wav. The report may give a hint as to what is wrong.

I'd use env_model to ensure you can't pick it up! Then put a brush textured with "CLIP" over the whole model. Clip brushes stop players, but not bullets or monsters. For DoD, you then need to make a lot of specially-textured things for particle effects (sparks, etc) and to stop the bullets.

Tricky. I was thinking you could have a trigger_multiple with "Monsters can trigger" ticked and then target a scripted_sequence to have the barneys named whatever go to that point - but then you'd have all the children walk there. Maybe you could have... no. I'm not sure. Experiment with my idea maybe :)

If you still want an info_player_start, try this:

1. Copy an info_player_allies or _axis.
2. Turn off SmartEdit
3. Change the name of the copy to info_player_start by just typing it in the box

4. That should work
5. If it still doesn't - as Raizner suggested - bad FGD?

I don't think you can spawn in multiplayer when you're on your own. Enter "map yourmapname" in the console before launching your LAN or Internet game instead.

Anthony: yep. Pretty fun.

I have a pretty high-end game but that doesn't work on mine. I think it's the lack of vertex and/or pixel shading capabilities on my graphics card so I'll have to try after I get my Radeon.

There's a 64K one too, released in 2000, which'll work on any ol' PC. It processes nearly 2GB of data. It's here.

They also have an 8 mb mindblowin movie, with custom settings you can adjust: final2.zip.

2. What entity do you use to insert a model in your map? Anyways, your non-solid problem can be solved by creating a clip-brush, this will block the players movement too...

Well, the way I always do it is just by placing a HEV suit on top of the player spawn. I'd noticed the inconsistent medical warnings, but hadn't paid much attention to when they happened, so no ideas there, sorry.

You will indeed. These are updated graphics libraries and are included by default in CS 1.6 (all of Steam, in fact). They're available at the HIT Improvement team site somewhere - ask Vassy, he'll know.
