A bit of a late reply but:
However, it's brand new (forty-something members), and it almost looks like it was designed by the same person that made imageshare.co.nz, which got fuxed by hackers and lost all its data.
I just asked him and he said 'No, it uses a cdudes template' :) and it turns out the site wasn't hacked: 'it broke, so i said it got hacked -_-' :D

If they are joined together by an entity just click Tools, Move to World and if they are tied together with groups then just choose ungroup.

The clip brush doesn't stop physic props. :<
Try refreshing SDK Content...If that don't work maybe Valve did it again...I haven't mapped in a while so I don't know.

HL2 Bug - Been around for as long as I can remember...I thought they fixed it :S There was a small fix you could do by using Advanced Compile and inputting something...Sorry I can't be much more help.

If you don't know some textures like those you speak of can be made into displacements and the blend options allows you to blend say sand with grass to make your level more realistic.

As I believe Motion Disabled makes it so it floats where you put it but the gravity gun can pick it up.

Isn't Start Alseep the thing that makes it invisible until you trigger it to awake?

You don't need any C++ knowledge, but you do need to know how to write weapon script code and weapon QC code which is almost as bad.
I had no idea...So I assume you write part of the code in the QC and the rest goes where?

As for the question if you could somehow get the arms as a single model then by rigging it you can replace the crowbar with it but it would look odd. The second idea is request it to be made on heh the Facepunch forums because although it is filled with silly nit-wits, there are people who like to help make models.

Well I'm not entirely sure but I assume it is info_target and perhaps you just tell it to target the NPC's name. That or parent it?

You can find these answers on Interlopers search function because they have a wider knowledge.

Heh rotating sliders makes me think of surf maps...
I wonder if you have tried this but what about moving blocks that follow paths? Like you start on a platform with a shape like a T and you must walk to each side to dodge walls that get in the way etc...And as a twist you have to jump from platform to platform and back and rotate to dodge the walls...It'd be very difficult.

Although what I am about to say is for Source I suppose it applies to HL1...

Like Espen said making things follow the player can cause lots of problems as you already know and I tried making a ragdoll that floated like a ghost with invisible ropes follow the player and boy did it work but it would get stuck in floors and cause the game to crash...

Also you said you typed *player but isn't it !player? I'm not sure :roll:

Oh that ticket thing is really useless...It takes 3-5 days for a reply and if you request another it puts you at the bottom of the list again.

Still I love how Steam manages things...Most of the time it is great...You're just unlucky to try it when a big error pops up for most of us.

Why do i got still leaks? Because i cant find them... To fix it i just ma a hollow box around my map and use sky texture
Which isn't a wise thing to do if you plan on releasing it as a full map. It just adds lag...Sure it's fine if it's for you and a mate to enjoy together on say Gmod but if you release it to the public you build the sky piece by piece and fit it all around the maps edges so perhaps walls or holes in the ceiling etc.

If you can't find leaks load the pointfile once you've compiled the map at least once and follow the red line it made. If it goes through something into the void then that thing is tied to an entity. Entities leak if they are outside of the map. The line could also be going through a very tiny hole so look closely.
