I reckon it should be entirely seperate, as should the tutorials. Perhaps we could have the In The Beginning tutorials updated for it? They'd be just as pertinent to beginner mappers for HL2, and there're likely to be a lot of people thinking "hm, I should have a go"...

Freeware, and only freeware.
Ruthlessly moderated ;)

I'd like to mention SequoiaView. Really damn handy finding those space-hogging files OR directories. It's not another pie-chart drawing program either... made by Mathematicians. Probably on acid or something judging by its appearance (don't be scared! Give it a chance!)

Yeah; we can't ignore our calling. We'll do the same we've done for HL? as we have for HL.

No point in ignoring it. That'll just kill the site.
There will be thousands of half-life 2 sites, why join them?
There're thousands of Half-Life sites. We're still purposeful.

If you're making a single-player map, put an item_suit on top of your player spawn. If it's a multiplayer map, create a server running it and people'll automatically get their suits and basic weapons.

'Fraid not; the only things you can include in BSPs are WADs. If you need extra files to be downloaded from a game server, such as for CS, then use a RES index thing; there's a tutorial on it at this site.

in missing texture in def Post #19898
missing [ in texturedef

The 'missing [ in texturedef' message can be caused several ways:

One or more faces has no texture, or the texturename is just made up of spaces. Check for problems in WC 3.3/Hammer should detect them as 'invalid texture' messages.

The texture name on one or more faces has a space in the middle of the name somehow (Textures are not allowed to have spaces in their names)
You are using Worldcraft 2.0 or 2.1, and the worldspawn has a key/value of "mapversion" "220" If so, remove it.

A Worldcraft 3.3 map was imported into WC 2.1 or 2.2, same problem as above.

A Worldcraft 3.3 map was imported into Quark, also the same problem :)

The map is in Worldcraft 3.3's .map format, but the "mapversion" "220" is MISSING from the worldspawn (this is really rare).
