GarryMod v8.3 is probably the best you're gonna get - There's probably smaller mods or whatnot for it, but google those.

Played a bit of Hidden: Source. Good game, but very buggy. I finally killed the bastard, which meant I could be the hidden, and then I had some weird graphics glitch bug thing so I couldn't see a thing... unfair, I'd spent ages trying to be teh hidden. :<
Hidden dude uses a shader on his view which is DX9 so it's fooked for you.

(It crashed for me with these old drivers =| )

In HL1, your best option is probably an env_sprite entity - You could accomplish the moving water effect with some of the animated water textures and a func_conveyor that's passable, as well, I suppose, but sprite's your best bet.

To clarify, there are two types of entities - Brush and Point. Point are the ones you use with the entity tool, Brush are ones you make from brushes (like volumetric triggers or doors) - That's the tie to entity button's function.

You can setup a scene in Face Poser, and you should be able to set a target actor to look at (or maybe you can do this in scripted_sequence, not sure.)

Source SDK docs have more nfo on Face Poser.

prop_dynamics =| - They don't actually fly around. I did the same with the CT/Ts in Raincheck.
Birds are very picky
They're very pecky too ;D

And no they don't work fully in CS:S, because they use HL2 AI entities which are not in the CS:S code.

Check the fade distances, as Ant said - They need to be -1 and 0.

And the reason the physics system pushes players away is so that they can't stack things and get to inaccessable areas, IIRC.

Ah, well it seems creating these textures is fairly simple!

That's the guide you want, and with a bit of mucking around in the SDK docs you can get more information regarding materials if you need it. The env_texturetoggle or whatnot just advances the frame, so you want to make as many frames as necessary and then compile them all with Vtex, (This is fairly simple but can often make some hassle, so feel free to post any more questions regarding that.)

And the correct ent is info_node_hint. They're not integral to making this scene happen, but they're good for idling bystanders and making things happen in the world properly (info_hints are applicable here, too) -> you can set points visually interesting to NPCs (NPCs won't react to a sprite, but with an info_hint with a blinking light activity they will =]), perch points for crows, cover, windows, etc.

Quite a bit, actually. Your best reference is d1_trainstation_01 example map in HL2's SDKContent mapsrc folder.

Paths can be set with info_nodes.

Essentially your setup involves info_nodes, scripted_sequences, info_node_hints (or similar, I can't remember the name of these guys =[), logic_choreographed_scenes (You can use a lot of the setups from the trainstation this way) and some buttons, filters, associated entities to get the setup to function.

Hope that's a little help =]
