well this is not an official model, i have just modelled a stone and i have assigned that texture

the texture comes from cgtextures
Most textures can actually have faces if managed the right way

i have heard about a software tool called "nem's generator", the thing does mountains, caves, displacemnts for Half-Life 1 but i haven't found it pretty controllable in the overall usage
in my troll opinion Blender 3D brings easier utility to create a cave u want to archive but the are a lot of problems with scaling and grid snapping... its just a random crap

Did you already complied it? How much wpolys?
so far the compilation progress stops on hlvis.. i think it is because of wrong grid setup in Blender 3D... i mean that a lot of brush vertices are positioned like that: x = 0.974, y = 0.951 z = 1.241... and half life doesnt like such madness

hello!
is it possible to convert a blender geometry into a working half-life 1 map? i know that on of the most important things is to triangulate faces then i should export the model into an .obj file, so far in the map editor it works fine and without geometry errors... but the walls are tiny i would like to know if this works before i setup compilation tools

Ninja Defuse, that actually looks nice. Are you using UV mapping or something like that to put the texture on the hand? I never got to learn how to properly use UV mapping.
yes, i make the model from a real picture, then i select all top faces and just put a picture on these faces... it takes a few seconds... however texturing side faces is a more difficult because they have to fit exactly with everything! :o

this model managing in half life is pain in ass, looks like blender smd tools has exported a cube instead of my actual model, i think i will try to get email contact with some offical source sdk support if possible...

well the question is that i have made a model in Blender 3D (not textured yet) i have exported the model with official valve tools into SMD and i dont know what to do next... i know that i have to create a .qc file (i read some tutorials) but it is messed like hell...
