Info_landmark MUST be in the exact same spot on the grid in both maps.INCORRECT. info_landmark is a reference point between the two maps and the player spawns in the new map in relation to the landmarks position. It doesn't have to be in the exact same coordinates...
Looks like I'm pulling out as well.1. Gets right to add a basement level
I was a little disappointing with the teamspeak server, felt a bit left out.Yeah, when Dimbark's online and Archie and I have been drinking, you need to speak up to be heard.
Archie's prize goes to TawnosPrimeFucking... LOL
I've heard from a lot sources that you should start planning your map before even touching your computer. That rests entirely on your style of working. I've very rarely worked from a plan when mapping. I tend to use photographs for inspiration if anything.
Where should I start to make this happen in Halflife ?Open Sledge / Hammer?
The only thing I'm unsure about is controlling the animations in-game. I know you can use env_renders to toggle visibility of entities, however I don't know of a way to specifically start an animation.Gonna play the Spirit of Half-Life card again. env_model has fields for active animations that play when the entity is triggered.
I really need to keep working on mine. Damn my procrastinationary ways!Yup. Less than a week to go!
Just popped you an email with my entry. Cheers!Got it. Your full name is fucking awesome by the way.
I've really seen the lobby as a sort of pre-level up to this point. The 0th level, if you get what I mean. A short introduction to what the rest will be about. The part where nobody tries to kill you. Were the story I assume you have written for the mod is started.Generally speaking, a "Lobby" is just one room. This is where the minimal story is given to the player and is free of combat. The offices and warehouse beyond that are hostile.
where should i place my map?Either upload it and send me a link via PM, or send the file directly to coffee@scotchandcoffee.co.uk
this is all necessary to get the door from lock state and letting it be unlocked!Again, unless you use Spirit... which TWHL Tower does.
I dont use the mod, im using the original Half-Life because of the TWHL tower level.Uhm... It's kinda based on spirit.
i dont want to use a button to directly open the door, its more that the 'lock' gets removed when the button is pushedLike I said, with spirit you just set the door's master as the button. The door will be locked unless the button has been pressed. The button doesn't make the door open.
