...where did God come from in the first place, eh? Yes, you can indeed say the same about the Big Bang
the big bang happend when the demention of time split from the original demention. Well, time is energy compressed by a factor of c-squared, so it has the same energy density as mass. and thats alot of energy. so between 0sec to 1e-47sec the rest of the dementions began or had split from the original demention. now, with times huge energy density in one place, being converted to energy by the creation of the other dementions(because these other dementions used that energy to be created).
now, depending on wether  the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd separated simotaniously or one at a time, you still have a huge amount of energy(apx 10e68 joules) concentrated in the space about as big as a pinpoint. and then you have the bang.
problem solved. now I just have to figure out what happend before the big bang

now let me make my speach in the 999 post slot. now that we have a website, though temporary, we need content to fill it. im looking for coders and modelers, and some more good level designers. I hope all the team who reads this starts to accaully work, becasue the compo is over and summer vaction is near starting for most of us. so get mapping, modeling, codeing, or whatever else you have to do.

and I have remembered my goal of mapping a minature city that I had before. I remembered it being way to hard to make everything like I wanted it to, so now im going to do that in SimCity 3000, just so we can all have an idea of the root and such.

and on another note, I just got firefox, it truely is better then IE and yahoo explorer by miles

when ever I run hammer, or anything else from the SDK, I get a FATAL ERROR: Can't find steam app user info.

any fixes anyone.

for a little more info on the problem, I can't run it through steam, I had to un .gcf it into the same directory. it started giveing me dll not found errors, so I copied thoughs into the folder. now hammer starts up, but gives me the error and closes. for all the other programs it just gives me the error

well, im using freewebs as the host now. J, Ill email you the site account and stuff soon. if theres anything specific you want me to put in(or leave out) email me. and I can do some very complicated stuff becasue im just going to skip the freeweb site builder and make it in HTML.

and to the team, make just a sliver of the area your mapping so we have some HL2 screenys to show.

A basic timeline that outlines the stuff this Mod is based on, most of this stuff based of valves original story of what happened in between the HL's, the one at http://members.shaw.ca/halflifestory/timeline.htm and the one that this mod revolves around

-0yrs after HL - HL ends

-0.1yrs after HL - Portal storms begin

-0.2yrs after HL - 14.5 earthquake devistates the west coast of North America, Many parts of it are separated from the main land and end up as hundreds of little islands.(quake caused by portal storms)

-0.2yrs after HL - surviving population of california + other nearby areas flee to new city quickly being formed just east of the San Andreas fault line, the new coast line.

-0.2yrs to 6yrs after HL - Within 6 years the city had grown to a metropolis, becasue of the huge influx of people from devistated areas.

-0.3yrs after HL - America puts up its famous 40 days of resistance to try and stop the invadeing combine, call to all other nations to help.

-0.37yrs after HL - All nations but America and Great Britin have either surrendered or been defeated by the combine.

-0.4yrs after HL - Great Britin surrenders

-0.412yrs after HL - Americas last great force is dispatched, it is the last force marshaled against the combine. all that remain are rebel unions around the world.

-4yrs after HL - Combine rename citys, the city, formally "Wing City", becomes City 6.

-6.2yrs after HL - Combine Forcefully start project in City 6, the project aims to generate a better human for transformation into combine soldiers. Combine hope that humans have a better understaning of there own bodys and can better achive results using technology provided by the combine. Gragg is made supervisor of the lab in which this project is taking place.

-7yrs after HL - Gragg removed as supervisor. relocated to City 36(Huston)

-8yrs after HL - After repeated failures, a risky move is taken by the project manager, use a mutated bacteria to spread the mutational enhancements throughout the body, it fails and leaks into the ventalation system of the lab. Lab emplyees are protected by biosuits.

-8.000001yrs after HL - bacteria mutates in out of lab conditions and speads to the city. infects city residents. infected people are adversly affected by the new mutation of it. Many bodily hormones and stimulents are produced in such extream quatitys that people lose all higher brain functions, increases in things like testostorone make them extreamly violent, and extream levels of adrenaline give infectees enhanced stengh, speed, and endurence. beacause of loss of all higher brain functions, pain becomes less of an issure to infectees, and reports are heard of them functioning for a short time after loseing parts of there brains and other vital organs.

-8.05yrs after HL - Combine completly quarentine most of the city, successfully containing the out break. all people attemting to leave are shot. many people have already escaped though, incluing most of the team that worked on the project.

-8.3yrs after HL - Administator Breen cancels plan to destroy the city. scanners are converted to cammeras and live broadcast is one of the 2 channels citizens have to watch, effectivly becoming the only thing on TV besides Breen-casts. People who have done anything against the Combine or against the law, who are not of any use in a place like Nova Prospekt, are thrown into the city to die. effectivly making it the first reality show in 8 years(and the only thing of any entertainment value in most citizens lives)

-aprx 8.5 yrs after HL - Name Problem-Reaction-Kill is given to the show by the public, name spreads and sticks.

-9.5yrs after HL - All people involved in the project are rounded up and either thrown into city 6 or killed. Gragg is thrown into the city.

-10yrs after HL - HL? begins

agreed, superior visuals and funner game play, a multiplayer thats just as good as halo 2's. an ending even better then halo 2's(I accually find both endings perfect for the games).

well, my name came about when I first joind TWHL...

I was looking for a good HL mapping site, and I found TWHL.
I watched it for a while, reading the tuts and reading answeres in the forums becasue I still had no clue how to be a good mapper. Then I saw a question in the forums I could answer, so I decided to join and answer it.

so I did, but I had to first think of a name. so I figured that since this was a HL mapping site I would pick a Half-life'y name. so I thought of HL. then rembembered the Monsters in it. I thought about the nihil, but hes a big ass ugly thing. then I thought about Gonarch, to easy to defeat. Thought about some of the lowly monsters, to weak.

Then I thought of the Gargantua, A big ass blue thing with alot of stengh and the ability to shoot flames out of its hands, and plus you always had to defeat them in creative ways.

and so I put Monster_Gargantua as my name, then shortened it to M_Gargantua and created myself.

Then I realized that I made me sound like a sad fat dude sitting in front of his computer. but I really didn't care.

and that is how my name came about. I now use it on most HL related stuff.

I have many alias online as well, M_gargantua only being one of them. see If you can guess anymore of them.

bah, im to tired to be doing this.

fixed the problem I had with your map, it turns out that the grunt being pulled into the vent thing made my comp crash, so I had to delete it.

so now I can finally see your big machine working right...but there are problems with that to. the missle moves backward for one. but the main problem is that when the arm starts its sequence:
its all messed up, and i havn't touched it, or fixed any of the errors that hammer reports beside the invalid nosecone and missing textures. are you sure you sent bratty the right file?
