no thats not it! i think i need to put the models in the valve folder too. its a little touchy. ill make my map before i reformat my computer again.. damn piece of unholy IBM shit!

i just set up my hammer 3.5 to cs 1.6. never done that b4, i just used to compile into cs 1.5, but i wanted to see the models. ok i extracted all the cstrike shit from the counter-strike.cgf with the help of cgfScape.
and now when i try to compile my map it works, but when it trys to load in cs 1.6 it freezes and i have to turn off my comp.. i also tried to load the map without hammer on and it still freezes cs. do i need to move some models or sprites or something to the hammer folder?? any ideas would greatly be appreciated..

im trying to make a romm that when you go in it. it will either be lots of gravity or very little. how do i pull that off without changing the whole maps gravity. only the one room? what entities?, and where? do i need map perimeters?

i bet Captain P knows what to do. :nuts:

you do know that you could have just use invisble wab tex. on the sides of the water blocks and then group them and it would have worked perfectly. just thought youd like to know that.

do what i did when that happened to me.. i tried everything even reformatting my HD. that didnt work so i just stopped for 3 months. then i tried again and BLAM! i can map again! super wierd! maybe its karma? kill any animals lately? maybe you should start to. :badass:

well ive never used goldwave before, but it should be partly the same as sound forge 7.. when you have you mp3 converted to a .wav ( you will want to delete the converted .wav file after youre done cuz its about 30mb just so you know.) then select the wave on the clipboard or new project in your program.. then just simply save it as a smaller .wav file ( not compressed, will not play right ) make sure that its 8bit mono and then save it. the file should be just about 567k's big then you can either just put it in ambient_generic or go back in the sound program select the newly finished smaller .wav file and put cue, or repeat point after the end of the song. thats all there is to it. ( oh ya! and save the file into the valve/sound folder. ;)

i was wondering why i try to make a new custon decal for my map and i save it in decals.wad as " {strwy2theseahonk " which is transparent in " wally ". then i put it on the wall in hammer 3.4 and when it compiles i can see all the white around the decal.. why is that? do i need to make it a certain way?? there are no tutorials for making your own map decals.. i know i already searched.

hey! if i didnt tell him what i had he woulda done the same thing anyway. i just made it easier for others. like your sapose to do..i so sapose i coulda to him to download a crappy free trial .wav editor or buy a $300 program. but not everyone has to take my road, personal choice! :badass:

yyes you can have a song. i did in 2 of my maps. i use a pirate version of sony sound forge 7 and i convert the mp3 to wave then to a 8bit mono wave file which is only 567k's big. ps. i downloaded sound forge 7 and keygen from Ares p2p shareware ;)

i would look through the log file and upload it in hammer to pinpoint the leak and block the hole with something like a brush.. You can't use an entity brush because they will cause more leaks. then your map will probobly be too dark cuz you were trying to make it darker but it didnt work. And then your map will leak because you put a light in the void and the roof is too short, but I think it should be Ok.

that makes sense but, i still want to put a model in my map but everthing ive tried doesnt work. if you would be so kind as to try to put a model in a junk small map and tell what and how you did it. i would set youre name in stone in my map. ;)

peeps keep telling me that i can use the cycler sprite to put a model in my cs map.. but when i put the correct pathname and try to load it up, it says "mod_num?error cstrike/models/chevvy.mdl not found" i was wondering if its my comp or if i just cant use cycler_sprite to insert models? :confused:

i was making a map yesterday and i saw the triggered gravity under the brush entities.. i was wondering how i can actually make it have a set gravity for the map?? can you guys help me out, and tell me the step i might take to getting that effect??
